Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

one five years; blimey that's a long wait. Is it the same wherever you go in the uk?
What you said about the world tipping on it's axis really chimed with me. I feel similarly; and it's the not knowing which gets me: if I know my world is going to back to how it was before, I can deal with the shit times for a while; if I know it is never going to be the same, I can do my best to try and get used to the new way of life. But not knowing which way it's going to go is horrid. I feel like if I do eventually get pregnant, I'm going to be almost as glad about getting to feel happy and normal again as about having our baby.

resipsa · 20/02/2014 17:16

One - five years? Wow, that surprises me. In this quick fix world, you forget that there are some areas of life in which supply far exceeds demand.

I too will be sorry to see you go but understand why you have to for the sake of your sanity and a fulfilled life. I know what you mean about feeling changed but remember that all of life's experiences do that to us (particularly the bad ones).

I hope you and DH reach an equilibrium soon and agree to move forward however best suits you. IF you do cycle again soon, though, we'd love to see you back here.

Meant demand exceeds supply - doh.

Hi everybody, sorry for gatecrashing, but I do keep an eye on this thread having been a regular here before getting pregnant with DE IVF - currently 36 weeks..

One I'm so sorry you are struggling. Are you in the UK? I had DE IVF at Herts and Essex, and waited about 8 weeks to be matched with a donor, and was then pregnant within 8 weeks of that. My nearest clinic had a 2 year wait, which I wasn't willing to do, but was happy to travel an hour or so for appointments for the short waiting list at H&E. Please feel free to PM me if you want any more info. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you feel a bit better soon.

To all those who have had BFPs - congratulations! There is a cosy thread (IVF Worriers/Warriors pt 5) which is just waiting for you all to move into. Choco and I are the only pregnant ones left on there, with all others safely delivered of their babies and concerned more with feeding and sleeping issues. Don't let that put you off, as most of the baby care talk goes on in a FB group, so you could pretty much move in and make the thread your own. Anyway, we'd all love to see you there, and are great at handholding and advice when needed.

To all those with BFNs and struggling with treatment issues - stay strong and look after yourselves. I hope you all achieve your dreams before long.x

resipsa · 20/02/2014 17:18

Motor! One of my original DE poster girls! Good to hear from you. I am so Envy! Best of luck for a smooth delivery.

Oh, thanks resipsa, good to hear from you! You're cycling in March? What is the plan?

Turquoisetamborine · 20/02/2014 17:31

One sorry you're leaving the thread but you're probably right that you need some space from it all to think. Looks like it mightn't be a five year wait necessarily though?

starsandmoonandback · 20/02/2014 19:27

One, 5 years sounds mad! Personally if I was using donor eggs is prefer to go abroad anyway as the donor remains anonymous. Because of the lack of anonymity in the uk, there is a huge shortage of donors sadly. Take time to try and live life as you once did (if you can) and what is the right decision will make itself clear hopefully. Please pm me if you're struggling tho. I know I am at the moment. I don't want to go through ivf anymore, but I'm not ready to stop. I don't have the money to keep going and that is killing me. Take care hun. Xxx

vallinnapod · 20/02/2014 20:29

Hi Motor! Wow, we got our BFPs at the same time. Had my ERPC 6 months ago today Hmm. I got a Lamaze 'My First Teddy' in the post today. Must have been from a competition I entered. It could have tipped me over the edge but I feel it is a positive sign

eurochick · 20/02/2014 20:35

one I'm sorry that you are having such a hard time and that the donor embryo wait is so long where you are. Going abroad might be the answer, if that is something you want to explore in future. For now, take some time, regroup and feel better. x

Hi Motor. Did fresh DE cycle in Nov. BFP but m/c in week 6. Two in the freezer for March.

MotorcycleMama · 20/02/2014 20:56

Hi val - really sorry for your loss, and great that you can see the teddy as a positive omen - fingers crossed it is.

Best of luck with the FETs res. You were really unlucky, so are due success this time around! Please keep me updated.

Missmidden · 20/02/2014 22:19

I doubt there are many on here who remember me but I cycled in July/August last year (resulted in early m/c) but then somehow got pg naturally soon afterwards and am now 19wks.

I have lurked from time to time to see what is happening and felt compelled to post particularly for One, because I am so horrified at the prospect of a 5 yr wait for donor embryos.

We have 2 frozen embryos in storage we will never use (this will be DC 2) and I assumed we would donate them. I have just been spurred into looking into it and see that you can only donate if embryos were created when the woman is 35 or under and I was 36. I am now furious- no wonder there is a such a waiting list as there can't be many embryos left over from IVF if you put that age limit on! If anyone thinks there are any exceptions to this please let me know.

Anyway I will go back to lurking and seethe quietly. Many congrats to those I remember on your pregnancies, Euro, Twinks. Also good luck wishes to Beetle, Cups, Res, Stars, Nobeer and Marypops and anyone else in need of some luck!

Fabuluce · 20/02/2014 22:23

Hey Motor!! Wowsers 36 weeks already that's amazing - congrats Smile

resipsa · 20/02/2014 23:21

Hey Miss. I remember you. Bloody hell, congratulations! Am Envy again!!!

OP posts:
wishwash · 20/02/2014 23:24

Thanks for dropping in motor and missmidden. It's lovely to hear from you and I'm so happy that things are finally going your way Smile

one I'm so sorry that the waiting list is 5 years! That's crazy! Is that just one clinic? It seems a bit odd

Nothing to report here apart from I've started to grow horns and a tail as side effect of the Buserelin and I'm rattling from the oestrogen tablets, multi vitamins and folic acid... Oh I also have a stinking cold and I'm not sleeping because of it. I'm not one to moan though as you can see Grin

resipsa · 20/02/2014 23:24

Motor, if you're around - do you know what happened to Juicy/Pram? She must be a mama herself by now, no?

OP posts:
resipsa · 20/02/2014 23:25

Wish - maybe unintentional but you made me Smile.

resipsa · 20/02/2014 23:47
