So my period last month was 5 days late randomly so all our efforts at trying failed, I'm not sure as to when I ovulated had lots of sticky stuff (sorry tmi) Saturday so DDT sat, sun, tues and thurs, however today I've had the same sticky stuff. I'm confused, can anyone else help? Advice? Xx

Hi blondey. I don't know EWCM very well. Have you tried opks? That's what I use and it really helps me pinpoint... Mind you been at this for 14 months so maybe not the most helpful. Good luck xx

No not tried them, I think if we have no luck this month then I will give them a go xx

Sticky isn't fertile. Sticky is at the start and end of your cycle, not around ovulation.

Around ovulation the best discharge is either wet (does what it says on the tin) or EWCM (looks like egg-whites - translucent and you should be able to stretch it inches without it breaking).

Whenever you see either wet or EWCM, have sex. They help the sperm get to the egg: the other types of discharge are less helpful.

You also need to have sex BEFORE ovulation. Sex after ovulation is highly unlikely to get you pregnant: the egg can only live for approx 24hrs after ovulation. So you need lots of sperm waiting for it. EWCM/wet discharge is released in advance of ovulation for precisely this reason (to give the sperm somewhere to hang around whilst waiting for the egg). So once you see the fertile stuff, have sex. If you wait until it goes/you've ovulated, then you've missed it.

HTH.

My egwcm at ovulation is more slippy than sticky....its sticky and clear after ov for me and gradually becomes cloudy.
