TTC with unexplained menorraghia

Hello all,

We are TTC our first child. I am 30 and since I was in my mid twenties have had very heavy, unexplained bleeding down below. It was constant without any break until I had the coil 5 years ago. It stopped the bleeding and all was well until in November I had it taken out to TTC. I haven't had any bleeding, nothing until on Monday when a heavy bleed started from out of the blue. The rest of the week it has been light, apart from in the evenings when it goes heavy again with one or two small blood clots. At the moment it is very light and a salmony colour. I am really hoping it is a normal period, although I haven't had a normal period for many years. If it's the bleeding coming back, I don't know what I will do.

Has anyone else had menorraghia and been TTC? If so, how can it happen with all the bleeding, and also did you manage to conceive?

I have suffered from this before having a coil ( great once it's in! ) when I had it out my periods were quite light for about 5 months & then back to heavy again. In late Mov / early Dec I had a v heavy 3 week bleed - which later a specialist told me they think Might have been an early mc - difficult to say as I didn't do a test as I thought I was having a period. If was so heavy - clots & flooding. Mine was really dark though, yours sounds different.
I went to the GP & they gave me meds to stop the bleeding - a wk later I had a normal period & fine since then. Still TTC - but the doc says it's not a problem - keep going!!! Fx for you xxx

My bleeding is weird. Before the coil it was constant flooding accompanied by clots. It didn't stop for the best part of 18 months. After coil went in i was blood free for the four years it was in. Heavenly.

Now, 3 months after coil came out its very light throuhi the day, yet at night i have a few clots and it becomes heavy, although nowhere near as heavy as it was pre-coil, but still enough to stain the bed sheets grrr.

How long have you been TTC if you don't mind me asking, Jessica? Very good luck with it all. Hope all your dreams of becoming a mummy come true xxx
