Spotting 10 days before AF every month

So just that really. EVery month I get this and to begin with I thought it might be implantation bleeding but I'm 13 months TTC and nothing.

I can't work out if this is exasperated by the obsessing about signs and symptoms and perhaps I have always had it, or, if it has got worse recently. I get brown blood and pink blood- only really noticeable when I wipe. A couple of times a day and for up to 10 days before AF,

I have a 3 yr old DD already which took about 6 months to conceive. This time around it is taking a lot longer. I am 37. And a half!

I've had normal smears and been to the doctor. I have a scan in a couple of months which is through the Nhs and to check on my fibroid or anything else that may be amiss. I got the scan because I have been to the doctor to see if there is anything fertility wise going on and I said I had a big fibroid.

I just wonder if anyone else has this. It means I spend 2 weeks pissed off because I know I am going to get AF about a week after ovulation - I don't have the chance to even hope I might be pregnant.

I had this but took b6 which reduced the days spotting a bit, now I'm on the boots cheapy vrsion of berocca which seems to have helped. I've also been Ttc since a miscarriage in Novembrr 2012 and am 37 1/2 and have a DD aged 3, so do sympathise - I think pressure is worse 2nd time around.

Get your progrstetone levels checked also x

Oh that is interesting Squigly thank you for your sympathy and I'm sorry for your miscarriage too. And the added extra pressure and upset that causes.

So B6? I have had basic bloods done but I don't know what any of it was for really. I'll speak to them again about progesterone.

Before I had 1 DC I never imagined that I would get so upset 2nd time around.
Thanks again Squig x

That's okay, we're now thinking of adoption and that means we will be using contraception - I'm just not interested in assisted reptoduction.

I'm sure you'll get there.

B6 was okay but I think it helps of you also takr good dose of B12 hence the berocca.

Dorisdolalee · 31/01/2014 07:53

No I'm not sure whether I would either. Good luck with your journey.

@Dorisdolalee - did you ever get to the bottom of your spotting and did it affect your ability to conceive? My GP thinks it could potentially be related to fibroids or slightly low progesterone so thinking of taking b complex to help the spotting (we’re also looking at ivf options too). We’re TTC number 2.

Watching with interest - I have a scan and a blood test coming up in the next few weeks.

poppet131 · 15/09/2021 21:00

@Livia22 - will keep you posted! I also have a scan in a few weeks too and bloods are going to be re-done as my day 21 was borderline. Have you been experiencing pre-AF spotting too? X

I think if it's 10 days before you come on it could well be connected to ovulation. It's not unusual to spot around that time. tbh if it's normal for you I'd try to work with it as a predictor of when you're fertile. I really hope you get a sticky bean soon.

Yes, every day for a week before AF!
