If you’re over 30, ttc over 12 months and wearing nipple tassels under your snowsuit then this just might be the thread for you - if you can prove yourself bitter and evil enough. We’ll be the judge of that. Don your snowsuit , cowbell ready - fill in the BESHtionnaire and prepare to meet our icy glare. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

frank it started as a typo of mine on the 10+ fred and took off from there! It has featured here from time to time. :)

hest I can't believe you have the high stress trinity of IVF + parental fuckedupness + house buying! You will deserve a medal at the end of this.

bugs when do you plan to test?

ControlGeek · 06/02/2014 23:17

hest you are a. ma. zing for doing a house move through all of this. Def go direct to the solicitors. Mine were through the EA too, then the sale fell through but as we'd already instructed them and paid a hefty deposit I decided to keep the sols when we got our offer accepted on the next house. Not the world's smartest move, but proves you don't need to have the EA as the go between.

bugs tis ok. 9DPEC = going menkull day. Tis official an all. Well done on handing the tests over to be hidden. All will be well. Embies are nicely nestled now.

Lovely to see the old besh grads popping in. I'm recognising some names from when I started lurking so many many moons ago.

Won a bottle of wine and some chocolate liqueurs in the WI tombola tonight so am sharing those with MrG now. OTD tomorrow and I have cracked my pee pot. Erm, literally I mean Blush

Have lots of niceness planned for the next two weeks, as am now off work 'sick' until 24th Feb. Direct manager doesn't know why, just that it is a second attempt to medically resolve something. His manager knows all and has been brilliant. Will try and stave off the bleeding with the pessaries until Sunday as am planning a hair, nails and twilight marathon with a lovely friend on Saturday.

ControlGeek · 07/02/2014 08:10

I've had a wee disaster - quite literally I mean! Today is OTD. I got up with the alarm, did the normal bathroom stuff and was brushing my teeth when I realised that I had just pissed my FMU into the toilet and flushed it away. I tried to force another bit out, but all that happened was I strained so hard my bum bullet fired itself out. ARGH! If I don't drink anything between now and leaving for the appointment (half an hour's time), will my 2MU look like FMU?

God I'm so fucking dense sometimes.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 07/02/2014 08:17

Do you def need FMU? Can the clinic not do bloods? I'd just admit the mistake and let them solve it. You're clearly not men killing...

Morning other hags, another day done, PUPOs! I agree you amazing if slightly mental for facing this many stressors at once, hest!

KatAndKit · 07/02/2014 08:18

How many days post egg lay are you? If it is 14 or more a sample at any time of day should work.

ControlGeek · 07/02/2014 08:28

It's NHS so I don't think blood tests are funded unless a pg test is +. They certainly didn't do any bloods last cycle. I'm 13DPO today, but yesterday's FRER had not even the merest hint of a ghost of a line. On my last cycle I got a BFP 9, 10 and 11 DPO and my normal LP is 11 days. I'm not expecting a line to show, that's for certain, so from that perspective I don't think whatever wee I use matters. Heck, worst comes to the worst I suppose I could bottle MrG's Wink

Managed to squeeze out 20 ml, that should do it. Bfn as expected on today's frer.

My boobs went big, hard and very painful but deflated and stopped hurting three or four days ago. Yours sound promising bugs. I'm impressed with your ability to resist the siren lure of the pee sticks.

JethroTull · 07/02/2014 09:16

I had no boob changes. I had no symptoms. Nuffink. I was fully prepared for a BFN. Looking back the only thing that was different was that CrazyDog wouldn't sit on me.

Lots of ESH love to the PUPO's today.

FrankelInFoal · 07/02/2014 09:27

I'm sorry Geek, will you test again tomorrow?

Bugs I had no symptoms early on either! it was about 6/7 weeks before I started feeling anything.

Hest hope you're doing ok today, give those solicitors & EA hell!

I'm in a bra 24/7 at the moment. They hurt even before ET.

I'm not going to say hang on Bugs. It's up to you how you do it xxxx

Lots of IVF menkilling about, unsurprisingly. You are all doing brilliantly.

geek I hope the appointment is ok.

hest I found I couldn't wait to rip my bra off!

bugs not long now. I think testing Sunday is a good plan.

Hello hags.

geek hope the appt is ok; sorry about the bfn. The waitin and hoping is so hard. I have to confess I did grin at your wee disaster description!

bugs it ain't over til it's over

hest good luck with the EA and solicitors. I ended up crying down the phone at mine (this is pre ttc, so very unusual for me) and that seemed to do the trick!

I'm just back from a scan at the FC. Ovulation is due in next couple of days, but my lining is crap again Sad I just hate the fact that there's seemingly nothing I can do about it. Sitting here with a heat pack on, about to eat spinach (and steak later) and doing lots of exercise but I don't think it's going to make any difference.

The clinic have just said there's nothing more I can do. I could try needles but I didn't relish my last experience of it tbh. I think maybe I will go for a medicated FET if this one doesn't work out, to see if extra oestrogen helps.

My cats have just made me chuckle. We've been trying to disguise the pills that one of them has to take in all manner of foods, and today she just picked it out from the food it was in, ate it, and left the tasty bit! Perverse or what?

Erm, hello :) You guys seem to know each other really well, so I honestly won't be offended if you're not taking newbies into the fold - but I always enjoy reading your thread and I meet your strict criteria (although I don't like skiing - is that going to be a problem? :) )

TTC#1 for 18 months, although not 18 viable cycles coz hubby is often overseas, and it turns out you can't get preggers if you're not in the same country - who knew? 37 in a couple of days. Avoiding seeking medical intervention because I'm too busy sticking my head in the sand.

Erm, anyway. Would love to join, but if you'd rather I didn't then I wish you lots of luck. But no baby dust. Because that's not the BESH way...
