Blue Clear, Boots Ovulation tests?

Hi all,

I stopped taking the pill end of December and had my false AF straight away. I have been lightly spotting last week for 2 days, and then the last 2 days also, although it has now stopped. I am due my AF on Monday i think.

However, we are now ttc since early Jan but I obviously don't know where my cycle is and if I am even ovulating. I am considering getting an ovulation test to help me and have seen the ClearBlue fertility monitor that gives 2 peak days and 2 high fertility days. However, since they only come with 10 sticks i'm not sure how i will know when I am ovulating.

I have also seen the boots one which comes with 20 sticks but only provides 2 peak days, not 4.

I was just wondering what people thought of these, which one would they recommend, and should i go for the boots 20 sticks since i don't know when and if i will ovulate straight away coming off the pill.

Appreciate your advice!

Would not waste money on such things.

OPKs can be unreliable and can cause the person using them to become even more stressed out. They do to some extent rely on the woman's desperation to conceive and are certainly not helpful to use at all if the menstrual cycle is consistently irregular.

What were your periods like prior to taking the pill; generally speaking the cycle will revert back to how it was in pre pill taking days.

Thanks for the reply AttilaTheMeerkat

Do other people agree with this?

Prior to the pill my cycle was fairly normal.

I used them and got on well with them. My cycle didn't get to be a consistent length post-pill as I got pregnant in the 5th cycle, 3rd cycle using OPKs.

This time I used them from the word go and got pregnant 3rd cycle.

It's entirely personal choice, in my opinion.

I got a pack of cheapies off amazon. I just wanted to check I was ovulating - I didn't intend on using them long term.

Caught that month. So obviously I'm a fan of OPKs and cheap ones at that.
