Had a smear yesterday on CD12. Told the nurse I was ttc and asked how it was down there. She'd said all good and lots of mucus and open cervix. I normally ovulate around Cd14 or 15, so just wondering if one would expect a cervix to be open for a few days before ovulation?

Also, going for an internal scan on Sat - can they tell you anything there and then about ovulation. Sat would be CD15 by then and I should have ovulated, but will they be able to tell anything - sorry if this is a daft question.

Thanks if anyone knows….

If you have ovulated they will be able to see a little crater from where the egg burst out.

Oh interesting. Lets hope they see that crater then.

Thanks eurochick

the cervix starts opening around the time you get a rise in oestrogen, so around a week before ovulation. Every day nearer the LH surge/ovulation it will get bigger.

Thanks blamber.
