Hi everyone

I am a mum of 3 and we are currently trying for our forth and final baby Smile

We caught on first time with all our other 3. Seems to be taking a while long this time has anyone else experienced this? I am sure it will happen in good time Smile

Anyone else mad enough to want or have 4? Some people think I am crazy Wink

Hi Catwoman

We are currently TTC #3. I had a MMC in April last year and also fell pregnant quickly with my three pregnancies:

cycle 1 DC1
cycle 3 DC2
cycle 1 MMC

Not so lucky this time, as this will be our 7th unsuccessful cycle since the MMC Sad Think I might be going a bit mad.

I am nearly 37, so I guess age is becoming a bit of an issue.

Best of luck with #4. I wish DH would agree to 4! Although I'm not sure our house is big enough! I hope you get pregnant quickly - how long have you been trying?

Catwoman4981 · 21/01/2014 12:19

Aww I am so sorry to hear about your MC huni!! I hope you get your bfp soon.

We have been trying 6 months. Think I just assumed it would be right away again which I guess every time is different. Smile

champagnegoldfinch · 21/01/2014 12:39

You're right. I also assumed that things would happen quickly because of the other pregnancies.

But, as you say, it is different every time. The trick is staying sane during the 2ww 9DPO and failing miserably Smile

nichib83 · 21/01/2014 12:43

I am also ttc number 4. I also got pregnant first month trying with my all three of my boys. I was very lucky. This is my second month of ttc this time round. I had mirena removed in early Dec so wasn't surprised that it didn't happen last month. Fingers crossed for us both this month!!! x

Catwoman4981 · 21/01/2014 12:46

Aww not too long to wait then Hun.

Today I got my big smiley on my clear blue.

Aww someone else with 3 boys Smile snap. I hope it happens soon for you too huni. Smile

Another with 3 (grown) Ds already and possibly starting again ttc this month. Have tried previously but had a break from it.
I was very young when I had my Ds's and didn't even 'try' Blush so definitely had no concept of the twatting 2ww before ttc now.

I'm 35.5, all tests I previously had done were ok (full bloods, hormones, ultra sound and trans vaginal scans all good) DP is fine too so technically there's nothing stopping me but it just hasn't happened yet.

I've monitored my ov for around 18mths regardless of whether we've dtd or not and I've found I've gone from religiously ov'ing on cd13/14 to now anywhere from cd8 - cd15 so I always check earlier now. On the plus side though my luteal phase is consistantly 14-16 days.

Good luck to you all and fx for fast bfp's xx

Catwoman4981 · 21/01/2014 15:32

Aww good luck to you too Hun. Hope it doesn't take long for you.

I have never had to go through all this either as caught on first try with all 3. My periods are like clock work but seems my ovulation isn't which maybe why we have been struggling. Using ovulation tests this month and glad I started early as today's the day but according to apps and websites it's not due for a few days. So keeping everything crossed that's coz I tested it will make the difference this month Wink

Biedronka · 21/01/2014 16:05

YY to the ov testing and brilliant you've caught it ;) happy shagging and I hope you're successful this month, will keep my fx for you.

My af is just ending so I'll start testing again in a few days, which reminds me I must actually go buy some more.

Catwoman4981 · 21/01/2014 16:10

Lol thanks. DTD this morning, Sunday and Friday (sorry tmi) so fingers crossed the timing is right. Will off course get my leg over tonight also ha.

Get some bought. Which do you use? Smile

Beidronka, do you mind me asking how long you TTC for before having all the investigations done?

ImBrian · 21/01/2014 21:48

Im hoping I get pregnant fast but my age is starting to turn against me. ;) 4 children is briliant though, I love having a big damily.

Catwoman4981 · 22/01/2014 04:33

Of course you can join more the merrier so sorry to hear about your MC

Sooo. This is the club for crazies Grin

Please can I join too?
Not quite ttc yet, practising though. I have no cycle right now Hmm Came off depo in April last year and not a single sign of af yet. Had the copper coil fitted in June last year - it fell put in August Hmm Hmm

Aaaanywhoo.

I have 3 kiddos, dd aged 8(nearly 9), ds1 aged 6, ds2 aged 3.
Dd is desperate for a sister but I honestly couldn't care less if the next one is a boy or girl. As long as there is a next one Wink.

CherryPie3 · 22/01/2014 09:57

Fell out
Not put.

CherryPie3 · 22/01/2014 09:59

Oh I'm 28 too. Although only for another 10 days or so. Will be 29 soon. Don't know how I feel about almost being 30 Grin

Biedronka · 22/01/2014 12:41

champagnegoldfinch I was ttc on and off but not neurotically with ov tests etc.. for around 1 yr before getting tests done.
That said though I can choose when and what tests I have done as regular as every 6 mths as I'm not in the UK (Europe) and have private health ins.

Hi all Xx

champagnegoldfinch · 22/01/2014 13:49

Thanks beidronka. I have been obsessively TTC for 7 months now and am thinking about seeing the GP once AF arrives this month.

Biedronka · 22/01/2014 16:00

Champagne if you've got a sympathetic GP, or access to one then get yourself there. Over 35's trying for 6mths should be sent for the blood tests.
Honestly go asap because the tests need to be done at specific times of the month e.g - FSH is tested for on CD3 and progesterone needs to be done on cd21 of a 28 day cycle (or 6-8 days after a confirmed ovulation)
You may also be tested for STD's - I was, simply to rule it out as a reason stopping me from conceiving.
I'm not sure about the rules (if indeed there are any) in the UK regarding further fertility help if needed on NHS when you already have children (or if one partner does as in my case) but GP will let you know.
I had these basic ones done in the UK when I was 33 but now as I live in a different country I have the full works every 6 mths or so.
I've only had the scans once as all was healthy with ovaries, tubes, endometriem and womb so don't need to keep repeating. The only issue that I do have is some scar tissue inside of my womb from my last 2 pregs - I have huge babies and the placenta left large holes which haemoraged but I've been assured it won't stop me getting preg, it's a small issue if a new placenta attaches in one of those area's but still nothing serious.

It's madness when you realise just how many things need to be working in harmony after you've previously only had to just think about shagging to fall pregnant :)

Wow Cherry I'd no idea Depo could mess with cycles so much. I've never used it.
Edging closer to 30 is not so bad, honest.
Anyway it's true what they 'you're as old as you feel' Most days I feel like I'm 12 :)

Your Dc's agaes are lovely for adding another.

I seriously must be mental - my Ds's are 17,18 and 19 :) for me it'll be like having a first again.

Biedronka · 22/01/2014 16:06

Jesus what's wrong with my writing
It's true what they say*

and of course - your DC's ages not agaes :)

CherryPie3 · 23/01/2014 09:23

Biedronka Neither did I! None of the lasting side effects were explained to me, I probably wouldn't have had it otherwise. Mind you, at the time there were no more children planned ever. DH was very against it, so for him to suggest ttc#4 was a bolt from the blue! A welcome one bough :)

As for being as old as you feel - I'm another that actually never mentally grew up! I like it this way, and the kids think it's great haha!

Can't believe your boys are so grown up! It really will be like having a first again, but you will be able to enjoy it without having the stress of 4 littlies.

I had to laugh at my dd yesterday - she's picked out her 'new' bedroom for "when my baby sister comes" Hmm
Bunk beds. Pale grey walls, dusky pink curtains, bedding and pictures. She is utterly convinced!!
I'm not sure she's worked it out in her head that she will always be at least 9 years older than a new baby. And that's if I miraculously got pregnant today.

Have a good day ladies xx

Biedronka · 23/01/2014 12:55

:) at your DD, bless her. If she gets a sister I'll give her a few years before she wants her out of her room when she starts ruining her make up and sticking sanitory towels to her walls or herself :)

I swore blind that I wouldn't have anymore DC after my last and I stuck to it for a long time. However, after I left my Ds's dad I later entered a relationship with someone younger than me with no DC so before it became serious I had to have a good think about it as I knew at some point that he would want one/some of his own.
It's funny, I feel more ready now than I did back then but not surprising I suppose as back then I was little more than a child myself.

CherryPie3 · 24/01/2014 07:43

She did make me smile when she was showing and telling me all about her new room. I've tried explaining that she is always going to be quite a few years older than any baby we have. Also that she will be at high school in at least yr 8 by the time the new little one starts nursery even.

Grin at sticking sanitary towels to herself!! Now that would give me a giggle haha xx

I this time around my DH is more ready than ever! I have always wanted a large family so in a way I've always felt ready but this is the first time that ttc has been my dh's idea. He was adamant 3 was enough but I talked him out of having a vasectomy - something he thanked me for last week when he sat me down for the baby conversation, how things turn around eh?

chippy123 · 14/04/2014 08:04

Nope were also crazy over here! :-)

I really really thought we are done after our 3 once dd arrived we swore we were done but then last year we've both been broody again and just around xmas time hubby said he wanted another but left the decision up to me because he works long hours so I'm the main one looking after the children.

Anyway we decided to start ttc last month had af on the 4th March and to our shock we got our bfp on Saturday night! Can't believe it as with our ds1 and ds2 It took a year to conceive and with dd it took around 6 months.

We're both really pleased can't believe we're going to have another everyone will probably think we're crazy but we just keep imagining xmas and birthdays with 4 running around! :-)

To make things even more strange my sister got a bfp the night before ( reason I tested was because she listed her symptoms and I was on the phone thinking hmmmm) so we are looking at being due about a week apart. She's the only person we've told so far I'm busting to tell people but for now it's a nice little secret between me and hubs.

HumphreysCorner · 14/04/2014 21:00

Hi all, we are ttc no. 4. I'm 44 and after 2 years finally got a BFP in November only to go for a 12 week scan and find the baby had died at 9 1/2 weeks. Had a scan at 7 1/2 weeks and saw a heartbeat. Passing the foetus at home was just heartbreaking. Had a normal cycle post MC but this month is stupid. Had a bleed on CD 14 for 3 days and now on CD 31 and no sign of AF. Done a million tests and all are BFN and most have lovely evaporation lines so have ordered some more internet cheapies. Have DD1 10, DD2 7 and DS 4. Smile

chippy123 · 14/04/2014 23:02

Hi humphreys corner :-) Sorry to hear about your mc that sounds heartbreaking hope your Ok? Are you sure they are evaporation lines? Maybe try a digital test so that it's there in black and white and there's no staring at the stick until your eyes go blurey waiting for a line. I've honestly done that so many times you could send yourself crazy. Good luck for your bfp xxx
