Hi all. Just asking how long did it take for your cycle to come back and to get a BFP after your Mirena was removed? I had the Implanon a few years ago, and it took 4 months for my cycle to come back but got a BFP on the 5th month.

I had mine removed and it took 5 months to get my BFP that time, apparently it can take up to 6 months in some women for the lining of their uterus to get thick enough again for implantation although there are also some women who fall pregnant quickly after it.

My cycle was back to normal within a month but my periods were noticeably lighter than before I had it put in.

For comparison, my other 2 pregnancies were first month trying, so the only thing I can think is that it was due to Mirena.

2 weeks. But I never had evidence of my cycle returning, well it would have been impossible really wouldn't it? It was all a bit confusing, but happy now

I mean pregnant after 2wks, btw. Although it took me to about 6wks to realise what had happened!

Thanks for the replies ladies :)

DH & I will be TTC (at some point this year) I want to do it right now and I just keep getting this horrible panicky feeling that it will take ages. I am so broody, its driving me insane, am trying not to be too pushy or naggy but my God the hormones are raging right now.

I had the mirena removed in april and my cycles returned almost immediately. Although they were only light bleeds for 2 days max each month. Fell pg in july and now 29 weeks. Good luck Smile

I fell pregnant 5 weeks after my Mirena was removed.

I have three sons and had the mirena removed twice. I fell pregnant first month trying each time. Then I had my mirena removed in Dec. I didn't fall pregnant first month this time ttc number 4 but to be honest, I was glad as it means that my body has had a chance to get back to normal and build up enough lining to support a baby. Hopefully this month I will get a BFP! Good luck to you!!! x

I had my mirena coil removed in august still no bfpSad dont think my cycles are back to normal yet just had 10 week cycle Angry
wish I would of had it out a few months before we wanted to start trying (I am also very impatient) but I heard like a few people on here that fertility returns to normal straight away! But op everybody is different and I hope ur not waiting too long Smile

I had my mirena removed in dec 12 but didn't start ttc until mar 13, tried for 3 months with no success and then DH who is in the armed forces had to go on deployment for 7 months which rather interrupted the whole process!
He's been home for 4 weeks now and we are again ttc, I hope it happens soon!
My periods seem to be lighter and shorter than before but I don't have any bleeding while using any hormonal contraception so it's hard to know what my norm is

I had my Mirena coil removed the 11th November, which was half way through my cycle. The night after I had it removed I had awful bleeding which was worse than after I had DS (Doctor has said this is very unusual and hadn't heard of this happenning before). The doctor said that this could restart my cyle so to have another AF before we started ttc.

It seems that the bleeding did start my cycle again and AF arrived on the 11th December so we were then free to start ttc, which we did. Got my BFP on Wednesday! Grin

Thanks for the replies ladies Grin

So overall, a very mixed batch of cycles returning. I may have to omit the immediate pregnancy stories when I tell DH tonight Wink
