Can anyone take a look at my photos to stare at my IC from today?

I am in a flap as I had a second line on an IC this morning but it wasn't where the packaging showed it ought to be - it was right against the place where the paper flap for the 'max' line starts. It was within the test time (at 6 or 7 minutes I think - I left the test alone between 1 and 6 mins) and I had rested the test flat.

I'm thinking this may be an evap, but can anyone look at the photograph and give their opinion/expertise? I'm only CD22 but AF usually arrives between 21 and 28 days at the moment, so I'm not late.

Obviously I will retest until AF arrives in the mornings. For various reasons a BFP would be difficult now, but we'd also be thrilled with a dc2, so I can be pragmatic either way. I am however in a massive flap about the uncertainty. I'd be grateful for any opinions: photo in my profile.

Strange. None of my IC's have had lines that far down. Can you retest with another one/another brand?

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 10:29

Thanks eurochick, it is weird, isn't it. I haven't used IC before; I suspect it really is a fabled evap line, though it's odd within the time limit.

I don't have any other tests and I can't use the pharmacy near work due to village gossip! And I think if I retest today with anything else without FMU it will show BFN anyway, I guess.

Ooh that is weird it's pink aswell for looks pretty positive. I would buy another test and test with fmu tomorrow. X

Thanks squeaky. Would FRER be best at this stage do you think?

I don't think that's a BFP, I think it might just be the dye collecting under the paper bit at the bottom. My BFP on these tests was definitely much higher up, as shown on the packaging. I'd try and get a FRER and retest tomorrow morning I if were you.

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 11:07

metalhead thanks - I think it's where the dye collected too. I did peel it back and leave it a minute or two (still within the 10 minute window) but the dye didn't go anywhere. I wish I had a regular cycle so could just wait and see if I was late - but with AF being so varied it could be 7-10 days before 'late' happens. But I'm just thinking about it all the time. Stupid brain.

I had one a few months ago a bit similar to this - Same make by the look of things. Thought it was a BFP but very low down on the test strip. I peeled back the paper and it gradually faded over the next couple of minutes, so I think the dye had just stuck to the glue that was holding the paper down! May be the same in your case, but who knows?! Best idea as you say, is to test again tomorrow with different brand. Good luck.

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 11:32

jennifer that makes me feel a bit better actually - must be a thing with this kind of test. Probably a flat out BFN then.

Must stop thinking about it now!

Well, I braved the local pharmacy for a different brand but they didn't have any FRER. And instead of having time to go to the supermarket tonight I'm giving a friend a lift (not friendly enough to tell her the mission) so the world is conspiring against me. IC in the morning again I guess!

An unequivocal BFN with an IC this morning. That's that then!

I had exactly the same thing last month OP, and I too got my hopes up!

I think it just collects around that bit of the strip, bloody frustrating though eh!

Flukewoman · 15/01/2014 18:57

Mad isn't it cosy! Hope you get your BFP very soon.
