Depo - Provera

Good evening, wasn't sure which group to post this on.
Last year in April I had the depo shot - it was awful, I suffered alot of side effects, such as depression, weight gain, mood swings etc, so after a month I decided to come of it and went back on the pill.

Anyway, I am looking to come of the pill at the end of the month as we want to try for a baby. However, I am wondering if the depo shot could still be in my body. One of the main reasons I ask this is because I am just not losing any of the weight I have put in. I exercise 4 times a week and eat well, but nothing, not even a pound can I lose.

I am worried that this will have a effect in getting pregnant.

Any advice will be greatly received.

Hello, I'd say itsunlikely. I was on depo for 7 years. It took 7 months after the last jab wore off until i got a period but have been regular as clockwork since then.

I had my last depo injection at the Christmas and conceived during the August, I am naturally incredibly fertile. It was literally as the weight suddenly started coming off that I became pregnant.

I went straight on the pill after I came off, so I havent had a period naturally, just artificially. NHS website says it can take a year for it to come out of your body. When I come off the pill do you think I should start trying straight away or just wait until I get a proper period?
I would like to think I will get pregnant at some point this year so no rush.
