Cramps for a week but still no AF....

Has anyone else experienced this?

I seriously feel as if I am just about to come on. All PMS symptoms present and correct - headache, moodiness, cramps, loose bowels [tmi!], backache...

I have been using ST for a week now fully expecting AF to make an appearance but nothing yet. Usually I have PMS symptoms for about a day or two before AF comes, never a week of it.

I am too scared to test, I am sure it will be BFN and AF will follow shortly after.

I had a MMC last year and would just love to be pregnant though...

damned phone.

Trying to say, you've been trying to get pregnant haven't you? Could you be this month & can you POAS?

ThisIsMeNow · 13/01/2014 07:11

You really need to poas

NutcrackerFairy · 13/01/2014 07:25

Have sort of being trying... not officially but there is maybe a possibility that conception occurred.

I am just really crampy like AF is about to arrive any minute but nothing...

I know I need to test... but I also just know it will be BFN and I will have got my hopes up for nothing.

AF is due anytime from 2 days ago or in 2 days time depending on whether I am having my usual 26 or 30 day cycle [after MMC it has been anytime between these, prior to MMC it was usually around 28 days].

So perhaps I will wait for a couple more days just to see what develops [I am 28 days now].

But has anyone else experienced this... and either been or not been pregnant?

Yep, I had cramping/moodiness/ the feeling I was about to come on.

A week later I POAS........

......9mo DD is just having a snooze on me now! We had been 'sort of trying' for almost 2 years Smile

ThisIsMeNow · 13/01/2014 07:37

That was exactly how I felt last week. Then I poas and got a Bfp Smile

NutcrackerFairy · 13/01/2014 07:40

Oh McMerry thank you for posting!

Can you remember, did you have serious cramping, on/off for a week or so? I seriously feel as if AF is just about to start...

This is what is so difficult about this trying to conceive business... early pregnancy symptoms are often so similar to AF/PMS symptoms it is impossible to tell the difference!

Oh and thanks ThisIsMeNow... Still cautious but slightly excited now.

I am 40 now and don't feel I have much time left to conceive... and conceive a healthy baby.

So really hoping this might be it...

Still on constant knicker watch though...

Yep. I had cramps, just like AF, except they started about 5 days early. Went on for 10 days (I knew I was PG by the time they went off).

Maybe don't POAS until you're officially 'late'.

Metalhead · 13/01/2014 08:34

AF cramps with no AF is most definitely a good sign! Fx for you.

akachan · 13/01/2014 09:55

I have the same thing but did POAS this morning and BFN. I am two days late and have all the same symptoms as you.

Sitting in my office with the door shut pretending to be on an important call and crying. Feel so pathetic.

rockin20s · 13/01/2014 10:04

i am 18dpo and got my BFP at 11dpo have had cramps on and off till about yesterday. it does feel like AF is about to start!

TEST!!!!

NutcrackerFairy · 13/01/2014 12:08

Period pain has come on stronger... and AF has just arrived Sad
28 days, right on cue.

Oh well, there's always next month I guess. Just hate this symptom spotting and wondering and hoping and getting excited and then dejected. It is exhausting.

Ah sorry nut Sad

It's almost cruel that the symptoms can be so similar. I would have put money on AF arriving any minute when I got my BFP with DD, trying for no.2 now and confused again already with symptom spotting, absent AF and loads of a BFN.

Fwiw it was 2 years of trying before I was pg with DD- a couple of cycles after we had decided to put it on hold and book a lovely holiday! As soon as I stopped thinking about it, it happened and the penny didn't drop until AF was a week late!! (we never got the holiday!)

Hmmm, maybe I should take note of that and stop POAS relax!
