Eggwhite discharge but OPK says no

I am two months post miscarriage and 5 days ago had the most obviously egg white discharge I have ever had. I did an OPK test and there was no other line, not even faint. What does this mean?

Sorry for your loss. Firstly, have you had a BFN since the mc? If not this needs further investigation.

EWCM is the result of oestrogen. It happens closer to ovulation, or at the time of.

OPKs detect the LH surge, which happens about 24 hrs before ovulation. It is hard to catch as it is short lived. It also is not always followed by ovulation.

So OPKs are useful but not reliable for predicting ovulation. EWCM is better. If you see EWCM (or what you think is EWCM), you should consider yourself fertile. Old semen can resemble EWCM.

Hi - Yes - I watched HCG go down, down, down to BFN.

Thanks very much - I didn't realise - I thought EWCM was ovulation... We dtd then just in case, so fingers crossed...

It's just all a bit complicated this side of a mc. It was so clear when I first conceived...

EWCM pretty much is the only sign you can easily spot yourself that you are very close to ovulating. Sounds like you dtd at the best time. Good luck.
