Sex....... How much?

How often are people having sex to conceive? I'm wondering if we DTD enough. Advice please

Every other day.

Worked for me, was pregnant first month of ttc

Every other day.

No joy, two years in.

over a year and a half we tried every day, every other day and every 2-3 days!

the cycle it worked we had done every other day!

also we always just did the whole cycle, so day 7ish to day 20 (short cycle here!)

Once on the day I got a +opk!

(Had been doing it every other day for 4 cycles before then without success)

Every other day or every 2nd day for us. DH was happy to ttc but I didnt tell him logistics, just pounced on him a lot!

Last month we dtd ten times and I got my bfp!

The previous cycles we'd been managing 8-9 times a month.

docs told me every other day from when the witch clears off until you think you have gone past ov. (sorry not much use unless you know when you are ovulating). I'd do it until about CD 17.

Only bothered on my four cb positive days. Got upduffed second cycle

dd1 - 2 x a week
dd2 - 2/3 times in 5 day fertile window
current pg (no 3) - every other day for middle two weeks of cycle

we tried for 8 cycles every other day, no joy. Cycle 9 we decided to do it every day and I bought some pre-seed as well and hey presto, BFP.

Observed discharge. Did it everyday of egg white and a bit beyond. Sometimes twice a day. Not much energy in general throughout the month so saved it for when it counted. Used Pre-Seed. God send when, er, I wasn't really up for dtd. Ttc sex got a bit boring dare I say it.

Every second day (night)

We did it 3 times in the month I got pregnant and those 3 occasions were spread over 8 days during my fertile time.

Every second evening from day 8 to day 20 works for us.

The month it worked we did it every day.

And have done it about 4 times since (I'm 15 weeks!! )

Bloody hell dizzy - that sounds exhausting!!!

I came off pill end of may had withdrawal bleed followed by real period 1st July had sex spread over a week 5 times during ov week 11th - 19th ish and got bfp 30th July. I recommend using opks as it worked very well for me

If you're struggling to conceive, the first thing you need to do is ensure he's putting it in the appropriate orifice.

There's so much choice these days, it's easy to forget that only the lower front one will ever get you upduffed.

Well this is interesting. First two replies are great! But i have to say writerwannabe reply is the best. Not that we don't like dtd but it seems such a struggle to get round to it much these days!

It just depresses me when people list their stats when they get their bfp and have dtd 20 times or more! My cycles are only 25 days!

Every day for a month for both children. Both conceived in the first month of trying.

Every day for a month with both. Was v v lucky to fall first month with each.

notta - I know what you mean when you see other people's stats and they're listing the 15 days they DTD, lol - all I can think is, "Where do you find the energy?!"

What is pre-seed?

It's a lubricant designed to help sperm reach their destination. Ut is typically used by women who don't seem to produce EWCM (which is the natural lubricant we should produce to help the sperm reach the cervix).
