Hmm ok

Well the reason I wondered was because I am actually miscarrying right now ... And I was on heparin after my last birth for 6 weeks ...

This pregnancy was unplanned but the next one will be very definitely planned .....I think I may have a chat with my gp and see what he says ...

I just want to optimize everything I can ..

I'm sorry to hear about your mc. Unfortunately, the NHS usually won't investigate until you have had 3 in a row, but if you can afford it, you could seek out tests privately. Most mcs are due to chromosomal problems with the embryo, so aspirin would do nothing to prevent them. A minority are due to clotting issues.

Thanks for your replies ... Food for thought ... I will definitely speak to my gp

I take fragmin in pg. Its low molecule weight heparin in injection form. Basically clexane or innohep to give it another drug name!

I take baby aspirin as well.

When not pg I am on lifelong warfarin therapy.

All for clotting issues. Pg clotting risks are twofold, higher likelihood of a clot for me and risk of a clot in the placenta cutting off supply to the baby. Heparin is for me, aspirin is for the baby.

Have never heard of using aspirin in ttc although I am on warfarin when tic so same thing I guess!

MissHobart · 10/01/2014 16:47

Ahh, I had innohep after surgery a few years ago. I'd take aspirin anyway as a precaution if I could but due to stomach ulcers I'd have to have something injectable so guess I'll have to wait and see what the blood test results are! Hmm
