Clear blue ovulation kit question

This is my first month ttc. I bought the clear blue ovulation kit (the one with the smiley face) and was keen to try it out. Today should have been the last day of my period and I thought I would give the test a go to see how it works, expecting an empty circle. My period normally lasts between 6 to 7 days, today is day 6 so was expecting it to finish around now - except actually there was still a small amount of blood today (tmi sorry). Anyway, took the test and it is a flashing smiley face. Is that normal? I was expecting it a couple of days later on for a couple of days before I get the fixed smiley face. I have a pretty regular 28 day cycle. Just wondering if I actually ovulate much earlier than anticipated? any thoughts would be helpful! Thanks

Looks like you're set for an early ovulation. I've yet to see a smiley face so congrats for even getting one .

Check the instructions, I've got one too but not sure about the 'flashing' bit!

Otherwise yes get on it (him ) for the next few days!

I gave up on mine after 2 months as I was getting obsessive! However a year later I just POAS again this morning to try and see when I actually ovulate!

Thanks ladies - I will pounce on him this evening! Quite glad I tested as otherwise I would have assumed it would start next week sometime!

For all these years my periods have just been a pain in the arse and I did my best to avoid them - and only know am i beginning to understand that our bodies are technological miracles!!

I don't use this kit. I use the monitor. But I test from day 6, ovulate around day 11. The monitor generally shows my fertility as high from day 7, then peak at 10/11 ... Not sure what the smiley face one is, but certainly I am supposed to pounce on the man on high days. But certainly I've had the high (shag) day from 6 before
