Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

You can do it by charting, analysing, testing, and worrying, but we prefer... JUST SHAGGING PART 20!!

Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Hello newbies.

little update: I'm back in the flat, dh has admitted that he is scared and agreed to counselling! He is hoping it's all in his head!

lil1ady · 13/01/2014 09:03

Morning everyone

cookie that is a positive step. try and remember the positive in all this - your results were good and you were just unlucky last time. look after yourself

DulcetMoans · 13/01/2014 09:19

So glad to hear you are back home cookie. It's not the ideal way to deal with the problem but at least he has identified that he is probably just scared.

MissHobart · 13/01/2014 10:13

Cookie - so glad to hear that! Counselling is def worth it, tough but rewarding!

1974rach · 13/01/2014 10:18

cookie that is a massive step in the right direction. Hopefully your OH has just had an attack of the collywobbles!

Counselling is a brilliant idea.

mrsb87 · 13/01/2014 10:30

Sounds like you're on the right track cookie, fingera crossed for you Smile

CosyTeaBags · 13/01/2014 11:31

Good to hear you're ok Cookie - you've both been through a lot and a bit of nerves is understandable.

I'm feeling a bit deflated today - nearing the end of ERTD, so gearing up for another round of JSing and hoping, and hoping, and hoping....

DP is incredibly optimistic now that we know he is fertile, but it does raise the question of why it hasn't worked yet... I know it's normal for people to try for months, but it's just frustrating.

Need a shake and a dose of optimism ladies!!

lil1ady · 13/01/2014 12:03

just had my blood taken, feeling nervous now. results won't be in for 2 weeks! bloody rediculous

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 13/01/2014 14:05

cookie

that's good news, really rooting for you two!

lil fx for you, I hope you get the results sooner than that
(btw I'm back to trying to drink my water - I can only cope with max 500ml at the moment, hoping to up it soon)

lil1ady · 13/01/2014 15:11

thanks zingSmile I've booked dhs sa fo
glad to hear you've managed to get back on the water. feel free to pop in on the water thread, you started it after all!

lil1ady · 13/01/2014 15:11

*fo = for this week!

JuniperDoesWhatZitaSays · 13/01/2014 16:03

Great news cookie hope things continue to improve.

Big hug and dose of "you will get there!" for cosy. The time thing drives me up the wall a bit, it works first time for everyone else, so it seems! But we'll get there in the end.

All symptoms have disappeared! My body is strange.

Minion · 13/01/2014 18:46

Fantastic news cookie chick, i'm so glad for you x
Ladies, quick one as i'm on a schedule, tho sadly not a shag sched, I can confirm that after careful scientific experiments were undertaken, that a shit Load of water does indeed make more ewcm.
Sodding typical i'm at the other end of the country tho, must dash. There's free cocktails to be drank x

Gennz · 13/01/2014 18:58

Glad to hear things are looking up cookie - it feels stressful enough just going through this process without all the other upheaval thrown in too.

I'm on CD 17 - have had the sore boobs and puffy eyelids that I normally get round this time but no EWCM - in fact no CM at all. Bit weird as I usually notice it. This is my first cycle since having my copper IUD out - I wonder if it's made a difference? Any ideas? Anyway I assume I've ovulated but will get shagging tonight just in case. So diligent.

hd19 · 13/01/2014 19:52

Great news cookie, always good when you can identify an issue & start dealing with it (damn too much development chat at work today has seeped into my brain!)
Right I'm off to down multiple glasses of water, then lure dh into Dtd! Happy jsing all!

Gennz · 13/01/2014 20:13

why the water hd19? I'm new to this and basically completely clueless ...

hd19 · 13/01/2014 20:34

Minion has been doing an experiment as apparently it helps with the cervical mucus, aka pant snot, which apparently is a good thing! I'm pretty clueless too but picking up tips along the way!

Gennz · 13/01/2014 20:59

Ahhhh thanks! My CM seems to have gone missing so I'll give it a shot.

CosyTeaBags · 13/01/2014 21:27

Good to know Minion - I'm really trying to drink more, inspired by this and lil's water thread. I'll report back once it's pant snot time to let you know if it's made any difference!

Juniper your body really is messing with you this month eh? Am I right in thinking that by your revised calculations, ERTD could be due tomorrow... have you POAS again recently?

Confession time... I ordered a BBT today (thought I'd ordered it before Christmas, but it never arrived. I went on to Amazon ready to get angry, and realized it was still sitting in my basket, un-ordered..) I know it's contraband, but I need to figure out the right day for my 'Day 21, which isn't ever on Day 21 test' . I may need a few stern shakes from you ladies to prevent me from getting too reliant obsessed with it though!

mrsb87 · 13/01/2014 21:46

Aaaaaaaah no!!! I hope it works for out for you. I know I wouldn't be able to work out stuff like that lol

JuniperDoesWhatZitaSays · 13/01/2014 22:43

cosy I would be expecting ERTD tomorrow usually...maybe I'll POAS tomorrow, I'll see how I feel! Hope the temping works out, I couldn't get on with it when I tried, too bleary eyed first thing in the morning!

Hope those two weeks fly by lil.

Nessalina · 13/01/2014 22:52

Ah, don't worry Cosy - we're all guilty of the odd contraband infringement every now and again! Wink
I am once again confused by my body, my period finished on Saturday evening, however today I have had random blood splurge! Maybe due to me and the DH having DTD last night, but who knows? Hmm

OP posts:
Redshoes56 · 13/01/2014 23:24

cosy - don't feel bad, I did the temping thing for awhile (sorry, viroids) and it was against the rules but I did learn lots of interesting things about my cycle. I was not super obsessed with it, never really set an alarm to make sure I stuck the thing in my mouth at the exact same minute every day. You'll still get enough of a sense of patterns whatever you do.

cookie - sounds like things are moving in the right direction. Hang in there.

Welcome, gennz!

Not much new here in Shoesville. Started my birth control regimen this week to "quiet down" my ovaries before the next round of IVF injections. Got some just-for-fun shagging in this weekend after both being out with nasty colds for awhile, so that was nice.

Is it really only Monday?

DulcetMoans · 14/01/2014 09:29

Well it's looking like I am out again. ERTD been threatening since Saturday night but not quite got here, I think she's found her way this morning. Bit of an odd one as I am very much an all or nothing lady when it comes to ERTD so it's been an annoying couple of days with 'will she, won't she?'.

So we have done all we can now... and we really did throw everything at it this month. Onto the fertility clinic on 23rd. Fearing an internal examination but if it's what needs to be done then I will just do it.

mrsb87 · 14/01/2014 11:27

Sorry to hear that dulcet, hopefully you willget some answers soon?
