Hello my name is Nicola, Me and my husband have been trying to conceive for about 7 years. I am not eligable for fertility tests or treatment i have been told because i am over weight. I have struggled to lose the 5 stone i was told to as i got really depressed and turned to comfort eating after our last referal from my doctor who said he can not see a reason the hospital will not help us. i am currently 2 weeks late feeling sick daily on and off and have lower back ache and period like pains in my stomach for about a week i have taken 2 hpt both negative and the doctor took a test a week ago again negative and told me to go back 2 weeks later.I am feeling very scared and sad at the moment i do not have close family i can talk to about this as they do not understand what i am going through they all just keep saying it will happen!! so i have joined for some advice and hopeful comfort in reading other peoples success.

Hi babyhopes. I personally can't offer any comfort from a success story as I have just recently started TTC for the first time and no success as yet. I'm sure someone will come along to offer you this soon.

I can, however, absolutely identify with your current situation. I am now 7 days late (I have never had a late / missed period before). I am feeling sick, indigestion, strange metallic taste in mouth and had cramps for a few days about when my period should have arrived. I have taken a number of HPTs and all negative. I am feeling quite upset about it this evening as if not pregnancy wondering why I would miss a period for the first time ever. So if I can't offer you a success story then at least if might help to know someone is going through the same bizarre symptoms / late AF thing at the moment. I was unsure whether to go to the doctor but it looks like yours has taken you seriously. I hope you get answers soon.

Sorry to hear that you were refused for treatment. It sounds like you at least have a sympathetic GP and I hope you get somewhere very soon. Chin up, it's not helpful when people say it will happen when your biggest fear is that it won't. Best of luck to you and I hope you do get some comfort from being on here x
