So it's my first cycle of ttc number 3. I'm only 2dpo but I'm so, so impatient! Grin

Anyone else entering the 2ww madness? X

Vickitoriana · 15/01/2014 07:54

Oh no, thats so shit. If it helps, my exH was like that with both of ours... He really shouted at me when i got pg with DS. It made it so hard. Is he happy about the possibility at least?

sebsmummy1 · 15/01/2014 08:08

We have been trying for 7 months, he desperately wanted this child. It's just he won't accept it at this stage and do ruins it for both of us.

In his defence we have had a couple of false starts where I thought it was a line and convinced him and then got my period. But this time I know it's a LINE line Bd he is still acting like I'm living on cloud cuckoo and so we've fallen out as I've started trying to organise some practical things and he thinks I'm mad. There is no baby!! etc.

Totally infuriating.

Vickitoriana · 15/01/2014 08:46

Men!!! They are simplistic creatures. Last year, when i was pregnant, mine didn't believe i was pregnant at all... Even when i lost it he was very unsupportive. It's like because they can't see something it's not happening. I'm still not sure he totally believed it because he doesn't live with me and didn't see anything other than the CB digi... I haven't even bothered talking to him About the scare... There doesn't seem much point. If i am pregnant i intend to do it alone... I have a nice home, a reasonable job and have done it all before. Scary stuff though!

GlitterLily11 · 15/01/2014 09:08

Morning girls. sebsmummy sorry to hear you don't feel you're getting support from your DH. Maybe he is just a bit like mine. He didn't want to get excited about a possibility, just to be let down, and also didn't want me to get hurt by getting my hopes up before we knew for certain. If he doesn't want to hear of the faint lines, do what I did and just leave it out for him to see by himself xx

Loving all these symptoms for girls in the 2ww. Sounding very promising. I had cramps and back ache before my bfp :-) no ibleed for me though, just noticeably different cm (tmi)

Xx

sebsmummy1 · 15/01/2014 09:10

Oh bless you Vicki, that sounds bloody hard to go through a loss and still have him refusing to believe it!!

I don't think it helps that my partner works in the field of pharmaceuticals and so says they would never build the tests with a control line that dark if the test line also wasn't meant to be that dark too. He said if a faint line was positive the control line would also be faint.

I just can't be arsed to argue about, particularly as I'm scared he is right. He did text me half an hour ago to ask if if done a further test with a line that he could actually see. I said no.

GlitterLily11 · 15/01/2014 09:43

After doing much research, online and with my fellow chemists I work with, I can say he is talking nonsense. The test line has a separate chemical in it to detect HCG only. This therefore makes it harder to get a stronger colour because it is collecting a very tiny amount of what it wants out of the sample, where as the control line collects much more of the sample (your pee) meaning it has a more prominent colour.

Chin up love, you can have your moment when you slam down a positive test in front of him :-)

Xx

sebsmummy1 · 15/01/2014 09:47

Thanks Glitter that makes sense xxx

I asked him to explain why my period seems to be missing. He said, aaaaaah, that's just one part of the puzzle!! What a knob jockey lol

GlitterLily11 · 15/01/2014 09:59

Hahaha! Part of the puzzle! Lmao. Bless him! He is maybe just being far too cautious. Have you taken a test this morning? Xx

jennifer86 · 15/01/2014 10:02

Oh dear sebs he does sound a bit infuriating! The line should continue to get darker over the next few days to prove it to him Hmm but I'd say you're definitely PG as that's now 2 tests (that I've seen, anyway) which have been positive.
I'm afraid I may be heading for AF, though. Now on CD 28 and the spotting started yesterday evening. I know some people get spotting which doesn't turn into AF but it is following the same pattern as the last few months so I'm pretty sure AF will be here in a few days. First fertility clinic appt in about 3 weeks, though, so we have something to aim for at least.

sebsmummy1 · 15/01/2014 10:08

Oh no Jennifer. Hmmm, you're not out until you get full flow AF, I really hope she stays away, but agree that if she doesn't you at least have the appointment to focus on and see what the options are. I hear of natural conceptions taking place regularly on the run up to IVF starting. I wonder if we just totally calm down and almost relinquish all control and angst over the situation.

Glitter I did do a test and it seems very very slightly darker to me. Really marginal though.

Lottystar · 15/01/2014 10:12

Morning all,

I hope that af stays away Jennifer!

Men are all the same (huge generalisation but heyho) my husband only thought it positive when there was a dark line or I got a positive on the CB digital. I think they're frightened of entering our world of hormonal turmoil - as clearly they don't live it all month and go through the ovulation testing, symptom spotting etc.

Anyway, it's definitely positive so congrats SebsMummy! I have a little boy called Sebastian too! Fab name. He is 1 and a half and currently trying to pull my phone away, little munchkin Smile

sebsmummy1 · 15/01/2014 10:15

Aww it was the only name that we both really liked. I had an Irish colleague (very handsome) with the name and i thought it was so lovely and liked how it could be abbreviated to be cool during school and Uni but kept long to sound all sophisticated if he goes on to become a barrister unlikely Grin

JenferB · 15/01/2014 10:24

Hi ladies, can I join in on your tww club! Smile I'm a newbie on here. This is my second post & I'm feeling a bit stressed today! I was due on the 13th and still no sign. Tested last night BFN. This morning first thing BFN! Ahhhhhhhh! I need kalms lol. Good luck to you all. Something must be up, because I am never late. Only ever early by one day max. I've been hungry, tired, palpitations, jelly legs, but still so scared I'll be disappointed Hmm Good luck to you all waiting xx

JenferB · 15/01/2014 10:32

Btw, I've seen a few posts about periods red lurking in not being pregnant. If you truly believe you're pregnant, don't get your hopes up, but don't rule out being pregnant either. My friend had a full period while ttc. She missed her next period, when to the Docs and discovered she was 2 months gone! :) I didn't go into detail about clots though. Some say that if there are clots in it it's unlikely your pregnant. I've heard so many stories about bleeding through pregnancy, late implantation being a cause etc. Something to bear in mind Wink xx

JenferB · 15/01/2014 11:22

That meant to say...
I've seen a few posts about people getting their AF's and assuming they're not pregnant. Usually it's a good sign of not being pregnant, but not always...x

TapDancingPimp · 15/01/2014 13:45

Hi everyone,

I'm unable to state how many DPO I am as my symptoms never seem to match up (slight EWCM on CD10, +OPK on day 13). Plus i'm quite irregular cycle-wise (last few have been 26-27 days).

So i'm guessing i'm around 3-4 DPO.

Zero symptoms, nothing, zilch. But I hope that's normal at this stageGrin

Best of luck to everyone else still waiting.

jennifer86 · 15/01/2014 14:35

Yes, I find it really difficult to draw the line between what is "spotting" and what is plain old AF. It always starts with just a tiny bit and increases gradually so it's really hard to say for definite when AF starts. So currently I'm still holding on to a little bit of hope but really think it's unlikely. Also, a couple of days ago I felt pregnant (nausea, really super sensitive nipples and boobs) but that's all sort of faded.

I've heard that before, that lots of people conceive whilst being investigated or waiting for IVF. Unfortunately I think that has been falsely raising my hopes over the last few months.

Welcome to all the newbies.

JenferB · 15/01/2014 16:19

Hi from one Jennifer to another Smile

I know what you mean. My hopes were raised last month when j got a very slow AF. Because my friend had a full period whilst pregnant, it raised my hopes. I've also been putting off having an X-ray of my tubes at the women's hospital. For the last couple of months I've OVU'd around the time of X-ray, and also just in case I am pregnant, but still have a period, as it can damage the embryo.
I hadn't realised how tough this TTC business would be.
Still no AF for me. My cycle is 25 days. I'm on 27. Today has been the worst waiting game. I hope that some of you have received great news today! For those if you that haven't, back on it! Wink Xx

GlitterLily11 · 15/01/2014 16:25

Welcome to all the newbies xx fingers crossed we see some more bfp's in this thread xx

MissMagpie · 15/01/2014 17:16

Has anyone else experienced weird pains in the general ovary area after ovulating? My AF is due after Friday (as I mentioned before - v irregular cycles) but I have had a few painful twinges all week and today have had a particularly 'sore' feeling in the area I guess is around my left ovary/fallopian tube. Any ideas?

I have other symptoms that could be either because AF is on her way or pregnancy (such is life!) but this is something I have not had before.

Vickitoriana · 15/01/2014 21:36

@sebsmummy sorry, went to work and just got home. Yeah, it was very very hard going through that alone... Especially the day it happened. DD was with me though, although she was pretty shell shocked and didn't really know what the say and do. She's 18 btw.

On a lighter note... The spotting as stopped now so deffo not AF.

Has your DH come round yet?

sebsmummy1 · 15/01/2014 21:39

Well I peed on a digi and it confirmed I am 1-2 weeks pregnant .... In WORDS!!! So he accepted it lol and apologised. He is out tonight at a work thing so I don't really feel we've had a chance to celebrate, which is a bit disappointing.

babytinks89 · 15/01/2014 21:41

I'm 3 and a half weeks after my first af.. of trying ttc after first miscarriage in nov..
2nd cycle due yesterday... no sign yet, but no symptoms of pregnancy yet either.. no sore boobs or anything :( taken first test on friday if no sign of 2nd cycle... the wait is killing me too!!
I just hope this time it hapoens for us! why does it have to take soooooo long!

Vickitoriana · 15/01/2014 21:59

Awwwww, Congratulations. Although you knew it anyway noone can argue with a digi. Shame he's not home tonight.

newforest · 15/01/2014 22:03

Congrats sebsmummy!! Brilliant news! Hope your DH feels very guilty now! You must be so pleased!

How long do the rest of us have? I'm due on 30th Jan so feels like a lifetime. Though as I have a long luteal phase I could test a few days before. :D
