Um hello, newbie, ttc, needing a place to talk to people :)

I've been reading the site for ages but decided to sign up as need an outlet and place to talk as ttc is quite secret and it's not something I have loads of people I could talk about it with. Plus I'm quite shy and my ovaries aren't something to bring up at social gatherings!
I'm 31, came off pill in October and me and boyfriend have been ttc since. I didn't know how long it would take to get back to normal as had been on pill for eleven years. Turns out it took four weeks, and am now on third AF since coming off, so annoyingly normal in one way! I'm getting my head round all this tracking stuff but don't want it all to get clinical with the fella as it takes the fun away!
So just wanted to say hi and hopefully share in people's stories. It's not all as straightforward as I always thought, and I'm always the one that would start panicking something was wrong with me. I'm pleased I found somewhere I can just write it down if nothing else.
So, hi, and hopefully can take some good advice away.

Yea I had the ewcm and tummy ache. By that calculation not too much longer to wait.

rambini · 14/01/2014 17:56

I love these threads, because even when I am feeling grumpy I can't help but get excited over all the late AFs the symptom spotting and of course the BFPs :-D mrsb87 and Helen87 your posts made me giggle, I was just thinking today how much work interferes with trying to figure all this out and symptom spot!!

mrsb87 · 14/01/2014 19:42

Ugh what a stressful old day! Spring launch at work has come a day early and my rotas have changed 3 times today!! Thank goodness for a yummy roasted squash risotto and dh bought me a nice big bar of dairy milk. He is awesome sometimes

RhiBee29 · 14/01/2014 20:10

Ok so I think ovulation occurred yesterday rather than today as the app predicted, tummy ache and ewcm whereas nothing much today. How often/many times should I now be dtd? Is it game over once ovulation has happened?

Why is it all so technical?

RhiBee29 · 14/01/2014 20:10

Oh and just to update cooker is repaired!

Helen87 · 14/01/2014 20:28

RhiBee- I don't have a clue but I am interested to hear what people think! I've read various things that say EWCM is at the end, middle or beginning of ovulation period so I don't have a clue. We dtd the 3 days leading up to what I think was ovulation, then on that night, skipped a night and then once again the day after. I'm pretty paranoid now that we should have done it more after ovulation. I'm also a bit paranoid that it wasn't ovulation so I'll be totally out for this month. Soooo confusing!!! Glad your cooker is fixed though, one less thing to worry about haha!

Mrsb87- work sounds rubbish, but DH's chocolate buying activities sound amazing!!

Helen87 · 14/01/2014 20:29

Oh and rambini, you're right, work is jugs a big fat inconvenience at the minute!!

Gennz · 14/01/2014 20:31

well after convincing myself I had implannation cramps yesterday, I discovered EWCM. I'd make a great doctor Confused

So that means I ovulated on CD17 (does EWCM indicate that ovulation has already ocurred or is about to?) That means the luteal phase will only be 11 days on a 28 day cycle ... Hmmm... So we DTD last night (I'm not in the UK which is why my timing s a bit weird - it's morning here) ande had 2 days previously, so hopefully that does the trick. Would it be too late to DTD again tonight? No EWCM this morning.

Talk about over analysing! All these things have been going on for 20 years and I haven't paid them a blind bit of notice!!

Gennz · 14/01/2014 20:32

RhiBee I feel your pain!

Ladymillion · 14/01/2014 20:39

Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one sitting at work thinking about ovulation, implantation and sperm! I can't take it anymore, CD44, no sign of AF or BFP! I hope I look back on this moment in years to come and laugh at how ridiculous I was being! Grin

cheshirem2b · 14/01/2014 21:12

Oh goodness this TTC is confusing! I started getting flashy smiley on OPK on Saturday (11 Jan) and kept getting them on daily OPK. Kept doing OPK daily and dtd but presumed OV was at some point on weekend but was missed on test ... but turns out (after doing a final OPK) that I'm peak now! So all my symptoms were just strong OV symptoms! Better dtd again tonight then I suppose! So looks like I'm only just starting 2ww now! Ah well... That will teach me to symptom spot!

RhiBee29 · 14/01/2014 21:12

Ok ladies Google informs me that an egg is only viable for 24hrs after ovulation so I guess it's one for luck the day after?! ;)

mrsb87 · 14/01/2014 21:24

Wow chesh you make it sound like you aren't enjoying all the shagging....I am certainly not complaining about that bit! Haha

cheshirem2b · 14/01/2014 21:28

Mrsb87... Just realised how it sounded! Oops! I'm certainly not complaining! DH thinks its great this TTC stuff! Haha!

RhiBee29 · 14/01/2014 21:41

TWW should be renamed the recovery period,DH doesn't know what's hit him!

mrsb87 · 14/01/2014 21:49

Hahaha rhibee my dh has been the same. Bless him he is pooped!

misskgb · 14/01/2014 22:32

Helen u either have an amazing memory or u write stuff down about us all!!

I get cramps usually for 2 days before n during the 2-3 days im on, but they're always very intense, apart from the one I've just come off-strange

Im just counting days between af n then if I am late, will wait about 5 days to poas, got an idea of ov days for next cycle to dtd. Otherwise just taking it a month at a time :-)

boumplj · 14/01/2014 23:05

Hi everyone, think I'm ovulating at the moment, I've had the mid cycle pain for the past few days and boy does it hurt at times! Me and DH DTD 2 nights ago, however he did his back in yesterday painting or ceiling. This means we've had to put things on hold for a few days and I feel so frustrated as this could mean we've missed our window this month. I know I'm being really silly as we have only started TTC recently and I need to get a grip!

I'm trying not to use ovulation charts, predictors etc as want to try and let things happen and not but additional pressure on ourselves. Wonder how long this will last, I'll probably have the predictors, charts, and will be temperature checking every minute next cycle!!

Oklahoma · 15/01/2014 07:30

Morning ladies, my aim today is to not stress about it all at work (though I think they should introduce conception leave - maternity leave doesn't cut it)!
Bfn yesterday and today but only 11dpo do I shouldn't be surprised. The wait is killing me...

Helen87 · 15/01/2014 07:35

misskgb- you make me sound like a stalker with a notepad!! I do have a good memory but often I have two versions of MN open so I can read one as I type on the other! I'm taking this very seriously you see :P

Helen87 · 15/01/2014 07:36

Oklahoma- I also said that to myself after yesterday. I spent more time googling than working Blush good luck!

Oklahoma · 15/01/2014 07:45

Helen that's a great idea I also struggle to remember who said what.

Very envious of your stash (MrsM) I'm covertly poasing currently as DH wants to be here when I test and wants to wait until Saturday!?! to test. Honestly. Men!

mrsb87 · 15/01/2014 07:52

Haha oklahoma yo will have to pretend you are surprised by whatever response you get in front of oh on Saturday!

Oklahoma · 15/01/2014 08:01

Yeh I know! I hate going behind his back but he should know me better than making me wait!

Helen87 · 15/01/2014 08:12

Haha what happens if you get your bfp before Saturday?!
