Cycles after coming off the pill

Hi,

I was just looking for a bit of advice/similar experiences. I took my last pill on 18th October had a withdrawal bleed and then AF 24 days later and another 24 days after that. I was pleased as it looked as though my cycle was settling down (it was really irregular before I went on the pill). Based on the 24 day cycle I was due AF 3 days ago but nothing. I have felt for 3 days like I'm about to come on (cramping, backache, heartburn, sensitive breasts) and keep thinking it's coming.

My partner and I are not TTC just yet (but will very soon and I wanted to see if my cycle was ok after so long on the pill). We did have unprotected sex last week (2 days before I was expecting my period). Although we are not actively TTC a pregnancy would be a pleasant surprise!

If anyone has any comments I'd really appreciate it.

I think for many people pg symptoms are the same as pre-AF symptoms so you could be pg. I'd have tested by now if I were you but I've been trying for a while. Good luck

Oh, I forgot to mention that I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. Probably too soon though!

If you think your cycle is fairly regular then would be unlikely to conceive 2 days before period due as ovulation passed and most fertile mid cycle.. Best of luck Smile

Thanks - those were my thoughts it's just that I'm unsure exactly where I'm at with my cycles so soon after stopping the pill I've read they can take a while to settle but was hoping that they were going to be pretty regular. It's weird going with the flow (so to speak) after so many years taking hormones!!

Tiny bit of spotting now. Still cramping (making me feel a bit sick). These are interesting times!!

Yeah I know it can take a while for things to settle down but you can still get pg so fingers crossed! I was on pill for 12 yrs or so and then got oh 1st month I didn't take it, I thought it would take a while it get out of my system! Smile

Turns out it was AF after all! I swear it's like being a teenager again sometimes - 12 years on the pill and I barely remember what all this is like (and my cycles were irregular back then too). Hey ho!! 28 days this time so decidedly average!
