First cycle really going for it but not being careful for about 3/4 months.
Using OPK this month, got my first flashing smiley today!
Anyone in a similar boat that wants to join the rollercoaster? Feel like waiting for ovulation is just as bad as 2ww :p

I really am not awake... not been* being careful...

Hi Treaclepie I will join you! AF/BFP due for me around the 19th, due to ovulate in the next couple of days. Strong line on OPK yesterday but not positive, hoping today's will be. Fingers crossed for us both!

Treaclepie19 · 04/01/2014 14:09

Hi threebee :)
Nice to have a cycle friend haha.
I'm the same, first flashing smiley today so should get my solid smiley soon.

Fingers, toes and anything else I can think of crossed!

Hi ladies. I'm back to trying after a MMC last year, and will be due a BFP/AF on Jan 21st. Would like to join the rollercoaster please. Not using an OPK yet, just hoping nature will be on my side this time! Took us 5 months last time and after a MC your fertility is apparently boosted a bit, so fingers crossed. Treaclepie19, yes waiting for ovulation is as bad a 2ww. In fact I feel I'll spend most of the month waiting!

Treaclepie19 · 04/01/2014 16:32

Hi sizethree :)
Sorry to hear about your MMC. Fingers crossed we all get our BFP's :)
Haha definitely, I've wished away my whole xmas holiday...

Has anyone got any views on whether to dtd every day/every other day /multiple times a day?

OP posts:
sizethree · 05/01/2014 12:03

My best friend is a midwife who had her first child in September 2013. She suggests every 2-3 days (much to DH disappointment!) to create a good strong batch of competitive swimmers. And as sperm stays alive inside you for up to 5 x days, as long as you DTD around the time you're most fertile you can conceive a few days after.
Although it seems the best thing to so is get a blind drunk and not count dates. That's how most sucussful pregnancy stories go!

Treaclepie19 · 05/01/2014 16:33

Hmm we could be out for dtd too much then lol.
I suppose there is no one magic answer for everyone though.

sizethree · 05/01/2014 18:35

There's no right rule to fit everyone, and I think a fair bit of it is down to luck rather than specific timing, but as long as the deed is being done we are all on the right path! Fingers crossed over next fortnight.

Treaclepie19 · 06/01/2014 20:59

Not feeling too positive this month.
Third day of flashing smiley on opk... Back to work today too so really feeling like sleeping not dtd. Plus I now feel selfish for starting trying now rather than a few more months as I haven't lost the weight I wanted to.
Sorry for moaning, think being back at work is making me hormonal :p

OP posts:
sizethree · 07/01/2014 09:06

Being back at work doesn't help one bit. Especially getting up on dark rainy mornings.
Please don't feel selfish about not managing to lose some weight, as A) Christmas is THE hardest time to shed pounds, and B) you never know when the BFP will arrive, so best not to postpone as that would put lots of pressure on yourself having lost a few months of TTC.
Big hugs and now show this week who's boss!

Squeakybeaky · 07/01/2014 11:04

Think I can join you on this too as AF due on 23rd. I'm not using opk's as only on first cycle but we dtd last night and think we will every other day now

Treaclepie19 · 07/01/2014 12:40

Thanks sizethree :)
Yeah, I really don't want to postpone. I'm back to healthy eating now but having a high bmi anyway I really didn't need the Christmas weight.
Solid smiley on OPK today, time flies being back at work!
Hi squeakybeaky :)
I'm a little obsessed with POAS so sadly enjoy OPK's :p Missed out on dtd last night so hoping I won't be too late doing it tonight.

OP posts:
Treaclepie19 · 07/01/2014 18:28

Oh how a day can change things. Unless I'm already pregnant (well, about to conceive with sperm from other day) we're going to leave it a month so i can lose some weight. Really don't want to but atm I'm classed as high rish as my BMI is 31.
Fingers crossed for you still.

Sorry to hear that treaclepie. Keep updating on this thread though. X

Treaclepie19 · 10/01/2014 21:13

Will do :) Still in the 2ww as of today due to making my decision quite late but not too hopeful. Doing really well with my diet so not as worried.
How are you getting on sizethree?

OP posts:
sizethree · 10/01/2014 22:40

I think I timed it ok and I've been a bit crampy today, which is a good sign I think. But could also be wishful thinking! Must not get carried away!

Penguinttc · 11/01/2014 02:34

Hi can I join in please? Ovulated Tuesday, and now I'm on the 2ww...
It's dragging already!

threebee · 11/01/2014 06:50

Come on in Penguin, it's a slow time here too! I think I'm around 7dpo and not feeling very hopeful but we'll just have to see...

Treaclepie19 · 11/01/2014 07:24

Fingers crossed for you sizethree

Hi Penguin
I'm not sure when I ovulated this month (which is unusual). Didn't have the normal signs.
However I got solid smiley OPK's on tues and wed and my app says thursday so only a few dpo i think.
Time really does drag but being at work speeds things up!

Penguinttc · 11/01/2014 13:51

How soon can you have symptoms? My boobs are sooooo sore! I never get mid cycle boobieache... But I'm trying not to symptom spot. Ha!

mrsb87 · 11/01/2014 14:46

Hi guys! I think I'm due af around 25th jan so been dtd everyother day. Not enjoying this wait for 2 weeks though!
I must confess I have never been regular with af and am completely baffled by OPKs etc and dpo's ...

Treaclepie19 · 11/01/2014 14:58

Penguin it really depends how soon implantation occurs. A lot of sites will say you have no symptoms til later down the line and others will say straight away.
Sorry, I have no personal experience of it yet!

Hi mrsb
No, the 2ww is awful. Hopefully it will be worth it for you though :)

OP posts:
mrsb87 · 11/01/2014 15:02

I hope so, I have always been incredibly impatient so this is unreal!

sizethree · 11/01/2014 19:57

Sore boobies is a good sign. That's the first symptom I got last time. Looked great but too sure to touch so frustrating for DH!
I've got some early tests so will test a week today which is 4 days before AF is due. I just can't be any more patient!
Fingers crossed for us all. X
