Hi all,

I'm new on these boards. It's nice to be here, and hope to post often.

My partner and I have started trying for a baby.

The thing is, before we started, I was on Micronor (the mini pill), which I came off of because I had irregular bleeding. (I had 2 periods in a month). I then went onto Microgynon, which also caused me to bleed for another week or so. I then had some brownish yucky blood for a couple of days. I stopped Microgynon after a couple of weeks, as it was causing me to have headaches and the bleeding.

After a couple of pill-free weeks, we started trying.

Is this safe? As I'm worried I might have something wrong with me down there....

thank you in advance..

Hi.

I can't answer your question but I also have irregular periods and find it really frustrating to try and work out my fertile times. Ttc for 10 months. I am also worried that there is something wrong with me so going to go to the docs for a chat. People on here seem to have varying cycles which has put me at ease a bit. Just thought it would be easier than this.
I have also read that there is no risk of ttc straight after coming off the pill it is just harder to know when you have conceived if you do not finish the packet of pills before coming off them to ttc. Hope that makes sense

Hope you get that bfp soon!

Thank you for your reply.

After reading lots of posts on here, I too am finding out that it's common to have bleeding after coming off a pill. I guess I'm just being paranoid about there being something wrong, and it harming a baby if I were to get pregnant....may see the Dr too...

It is safe to start ttc as soon as you stop the pill and it is common to bleed too.

I started ttc straight away but don't think I actually ovulated for the first three months and my luteal phase was only seven days long anyway, so it definitely wasn't gonna happen. Anyway, five months after stopping the pill my cycle was normal again and we conceived.
