Hey all,

My period will be due around the 4th this month and I had unprotected sex with my partner today. If I am become pregnant will I still have my period? I ask because it would be nice to know as soon as possible if I am or not, I'm not worried, I'm just impatient! If I don't get my period then I'll take that as a pretty clear sign that I am pregnant, but would a normal period mean I am definitely not pregnant? Obviously I will take a test as soon as I can.

Thanks very much!

If you're due on in the days and only had unprotected sex today you're unlikely to be pregnant as you will have ovulated earlier on. However if you've been ttc through December you're in with a chance! Lots of tests work this early but I'd recommend waiting till you're late "like I do" Hmm

Thanks for replying. I was just wondering if I'd still have a normal period even if I conceived this late in the cycle. Guess I'll have to wait for a test to know for sure! Thanks :)

If you have regular cycles, you can work out when af is due. If you're sure it's the 4th then you wouldn't have conceived as late as yesterday. Most women ovulate around 14 days after their period so if you had unprotected sex about two weeks ago, you're in with a chance still.

While it is possible to have periods whilst pregnant, it is very rare.

We don't call it the two week wait for nothing!

Or in my case this month, 16 days! Sad

Thanks! We'll try again later in the month maybe!

Are you ttc? If so you want to think qbouyt having sex every 2-3 days over the whole month. Or you can work out when you ovulate and have sex just before and during that time.

If you only have unprotected sex late in your cycle you may be missing ovulation...

Yep, like puppy said, you need to dtd a few times a week or try to do it across the week when you ovulate. I used to look for egg white cervical mucus as a sign I was ovulating. In the month I conceived, the cm started on day 13, carried on to day 15 and I ovulated on day 16. We had sex on days 13, 13, 14, 15, 18 and 19.
