Periods after stopping cerazette

I stopped taking Cerazette at the start of November and I haven't had a period yet. I've read a few things on the internet about it taking ages to get your cycle back to normal. Any experiences?

I am breastfeeding my 15 month old DS about twice a day, but did not think this would be enough to keep periods away, and don't really want to stop completely until he is ready. Would really that be enough to have an effect?

I have asked my GP about this when I saw him about something else just before Christmas and he just said not to worry yet, but I am a little concerned on how long it might take as we are not getting any younger and hoping to conceive this year. Before DS my periods were regular as clockwork and I conceived just three months after coming off microgynon.

Does it normally take this long?

Just to add to that- when I say "does it normally take this long" I don't think 8 weeks is a long time, just i mean "does it normally take a long time?"

If you see what I mean.

Took three weeks for my first AF but I wouldn't say things are back to normal yet and it's been a few months. Think hormones r still messed up a bit. I think it's just a case of waiting...

I stopped taking Desorex (uses Desogestrel, same as Cerazette) on 1st Dec and have just started AF today. Have been taking evening primrose oil to help get my hormones back on track but have been feeling pretty weird all month. Have also got agnus castus on order to take in the first couple of weeks of cycle.

If it took ages for AF to return, I was planning to consult a medical herbalist as herbal medicine has worked well for me in the past. Will probably still do this in a few months, but maybe for help conceiving or (hopefully) to ensure healthy pregnancy!

Came off cerezette in early oct, had a couple of weird bleeds through the first month, then a 25 day cycle, then a 34 day cycle! So things are definitely a bit all over the place. I used to take marvelon, came off that and get pregnant immediately. Everyone is different but my GP said on average it's around 3 months for things to calm down, but that really is just an average.

My first AF arrived about 4 weeks after stopping cerazette and got BFP on the next cycle. When we decided to start TTC, I read so many horror stories about cerazette but I think everyone is different. Realise we were very lucky but just wanted to highlight that it is not all "horrible" with cerazette!
