When to DTD??

Currently TTC #2 and my cycle is all over the place, anywhere between 25 and 34 days. So when would you DTD if you were me? Thank you!

Basically every other day from about day 12 of your cycle! Have you considered using ovulation sticks so you have a vague idea of when to try each month? I had no clue about my cycle length so I used OPKs (cheapy ones) and a free app to keep track of my cycle.

Have you tried temping? Or if you don't fancy that just every 2-3 days.

Thank you both! I'm pretty clueless as was very lucky indeed to conceive DD1 immediately so this is the first time I've really had to figure out my cycle. Initially I wanted to avoid using opks as I've heard conflicting things about them from friends and was worried they'd make me a bit obsessive! But I'm realising with an irregular cycle that just the calendar alone is going to be pretty tricky. I've never thought about temping, perhaps I'll give opks a go first then of no luck look more into temping. Thanks again.

Have you always had such irregular periods? Have you been given a reason for them?

If I had only had sex from day 12 onwards, I never would have conceived. I ovulate on day 11!

For couples with no known fertility issues, they recommend having sex throughout your cycle, every other day or every 2-3 days if that's too arduous. I would first of all try and find out why you're having such irregular periods in case you aren't ovulating reliably.

Showy I've only been off the pill since oct so I think it's my body sorting itself out? Tbh I've been on the pill most of my adult life so don't really know what my 'normal' is. I'd been on it for 15 yrs before I conceived DD1 straightaway, amazingly lucky, so I'm just being super impatient for it for it to happen this time.

Keep an eye on it for a couple of months and if you see continued irregularity to that extent, I'd nip along and ask them to do some basic blood tests. An irregular cycle can indicate you aren't ovulating. Not sure if this will be because of the pill but I do know people who've taken a while to fall back into their 'normal' cycle after taking the pill for a while. I took it for 10 years and returned to a 28 day, regular as clockwork cycle immediately however!

Thanks showy, hadn't even occurred to me I might not be ovulating tbh. Plan to use opks after this month if nothing's happened so will see how it goes.
