Post vasectomy reversal

I had a vasectomy reversal back in July after over 11 years with the incredible Dr Harriss in Nottingham.

Since then my partner and I have lost three pregnancies yet I have had two children before and she has had three.

Has anyone had similar experiences yet with a positive outcome as I have found really difficult to cope with but being a man have found it difficult to talk to anyone

I am so sorry for you loss and pain. I am not in exactly the same circumstances although I certainly know the pain of trying to conceive - my husband and I have been trying to conceive for two years and not even a whiff of a pregnancy.

Not sure if you and your partner are doing this but it certainly seems to be helping me. I am no expert but I don't think the vasectomy reversal has anything to do with this. The sperm and the egg are obviously meeting. Not sure how old you are but with your wife already having had 3 beautiful children, it doesn't sound like youth is on your side. The older a woman is, the higher the chance of chromosome abnormalities and the higher the chance of miscarriage. Sorry if that sounds brutal and unsympathetic, but that is just the statistics.

I have done three IVF cycles all of which have failed. I have however been taking supplements and eating a high protein diet which has been shown to improve embryo quality with IVF, and my embryo quality has improved each time over the three IVF cycles so it gives me hope to continue on. Not sure if supplements are something that could help you from a practical standpoint.

If you are not after practical advise, and just need a place to vent, would love to hear more about your story and I certainly know the struggles and I find it really does help to vent.

Thanks

Yes maybe age has a lot to play, I'm 42 and she's 39 but it's just so important to us.
