Gulp. DH has been overseas and we got a little carried away on his return. We usually use condoms.

I thought it would be ok as I was on CD5 and still bleeding a bit. I've just double checked and the conception calendar said that this was the first day of the most fertile part of my cycle as AF has been 23 days apart lately. Cripes Confused

Now, our first child took 4 months to conceive. This is really unlikely isn't it? AF has been between 21-28 days since I wound down breastfeeding. What do you reckon?

You'll know in a couple of weeks! It sounds like it would be possible.

KatAndKit · 30/12/2013 18:24

I think it is possible but actually rather unlikely. It is very early in your cycle. Are you too late for the morning after pill or would you be happy to be pregnant.

Thanks ladies. Too late for MAP now (I just checked the stats and was v surprised that CD5 could potentially be risky for me).

We do eventually want more children but for professional reasons we had planned to wait another year. In any case I suspect that our next child will take a bit more trying than one unplanned night!

Do you know that your luteal phase is 14 days? If it's any shorter then it's virtually impossible for you to get pregnant on day 5. With a cycle that short I would guess your luteal phase is shorter too.

yourcruisedirector · 30/12/2013 19:40

Thanks Soloman; I don't know the length of my luteal phase, as I don't really feel ovulation and have never charted.

Are you still breastfeeding at all? If so, your luteal phase is probably less than 14 days.

yourcruisedirector · 30/12/2013 19:48

That's interesting, can you point me in the direction of some reading, please? Yes, still bfing once a day.

It's well known that breastfeeding has an effect on luteal phase, I think Kelly mom probably has articles about it. I'm not sure if once a day is little enough to.stop the effect.

Ty, I'll take a look Smile
