AF 12 days late but tests negative

I posted in pregnancy yesterday but then realised it was probably the wrong place & didn't any replies, so thought I'd try here!

Since having DS (16 months) my cycles have been less regular, anything from 26-35 days. I also had post partum thyroiditis and now have an underactive thyroid, I'm on thyroxine now so not sure if that would affect my cycles or not?

It's now 47 days since my last period. I've done three pregnancy tests, all negative. We're not actively trying, but had a condom break about 2 weeks after my last period. If I was pregnant we'd be really happy - we are planning on trying in a few months anyway.

I don't have any pregnancy signs except achey breasts, but that could be premenstrual. But I had no signs until about 8-9 weeks with DS, when the nausea hit! With DS the first test I did was positive, at about a week late.

Could I still be pregnant, despite negative tests? If not, what's going on? I'm not especially stressed, have been a bit unwell this month with a vomiting bug but nothing terrible, and it doesn't usually affect my cycle.

Any advice gratefully received!

Hi. Do you happen to know when you ovulated? It may have happened later than normal and may just be too early to test/expect af.

I'm in a similar boat. 36 days since last period but bfn. Normally 27/28 day cycles. I had some slight spotting on CD28. I have symptoms that aren't normal for af or ibs. I just want a positive pregnancy test or a reason of where is my period.

Thanks toots - I'm afraid I don't, I've never really monitored it (DS was a happy surprise after conceiving with a coil! Blush) and as we're not actually ttc as such, I don't really pay much attention to my cycles other than to log when AF arrives each month.

Gingerpanther, it is so frustrating isn't it? A positive would be a lovely surprise but a negative would be fine too, I would just like to know!

Well I'm getting married in 9 months so could make for an interesting day if I find out I had been pregnant all along Wink Blush

Gingerpanther, I found out I was pregnant with DS 7 months before our wedding! Bit of a shock, as I had a coil... I would have been 8.5 months on the day if we'd not changed our plans!

Well, AF arrived so that answers that! I'm surprisingly disappointed, considering we weren't trying. Sad
