I was on the implant and injection for about 8 years +. I am now ttc. I was supposed to go and have my last injection in August but as we were getting married we thought we may want to ttc so I went on the pill for three weeks. I had a reaction to the pill so stopped taking it, but it did bring back my periods quicker than anyone else I know who's come off the injection.

I had a few months of very very short cycles (14 days and 21 days). I've taken pregnacare ttc vitamins and vitamin b6 to lengthen my cycles. Last cycle was my first 28 day cycle and this cycle looks like I ov on the day I was supposed to as well. Hopefully it won't be long until I catch but I feel very positive that my cycles are back to what they should be.

Good luck.

So you just had the shot and your rod is out? That sound right?

I'm on the rod and have been for 4+ years. I'm hoping to get it out in the first quarter of 2014. You are "supposed" to go back to "normal" as soon as the rod is out but for some people it doesn't work like that (or their "normal" was never normal, they just didn't know).

I haven't had a period since August 2009 so I have absolutely no idea what my "pattern" is. I installed the "Fertility Friend" app on my phone and once my rod is out we will switch to condoms to allow my body time to normalise (and hopefully lose some of the weight I gained whilst on it) and I'll track my periods and all of that at that time for a couple of months or until my husband stops hyperventilating at the realisation he's going to be a "dad" eventually :P

It can't hurt to start taking the folic acid sooner than March to allow it time to build up in your system. It's not bad for non-pregnant women so don't worry about that.

Good luck!
