Hi all,

New here but I'm hopefully going to be TTC for baby number 3 later in year as I would ideally like a baby when the lighter evenings are! Did any of you plan it like this?

Only thing is it seems ages away! Did you use the months before TTC planning like you were already pregnant?

X

I had a spring baby first time round, though we didn't plan it that way.Agree, not sure I would like to have a baby in the deep winter as it's so dark so soon and the evenings stretch out forever when you're stuck inside!
I think it takes about 4 months to ready the egg for release and 70 odd days to create sperm, so about 4 months before TTC DC2 will cut out alcohol, try get a bit more exercise and eat extra well. Can't put life on hold though as none of us know how long it will takeSad

Took me 13 months to get my bfp recently for number 2! So I wouldn't hang around if you are sure you want dc3 go for it! It could take one cycle it could take 20! No way of knowing!! Good luck!! SmileSmileSmile

We're planning #3 depending on where we'll be living etc (big move planned next year) but the weather hasn't really affected our decision. #1 was a summer baby which was nice (I often went to our 24hr Tesco at 4am when I was done with trying to get her to sleep in her cot!), but #2 was February which was dark and cold. But it was fine. Really not a big deal.

I live very healthily anyway so don't really need to change anything... I'd almost worry if I had to make lots of changes to my lifestyle to be healthy enough to get pregnant (alcohol excluded).

Good luck!

I don't have any dc but from what I hear, I think everyone has different ideas of what might be a perfect time. Some don't want an August baby for school reasons, some don't want a December baby because their birthday would be too close to Christmas. If you are taking maternity leave then you may prefer the summer months, but similarly when the baby is up all night, the early nights are a good excuse to catch up on your sleep, and when the baby is a few months old and you feel a bit more alive, then you can enjoy the spring and summer.

Good luck, these boards have been an amazing help for me when I've had questions.
