Confused: monitor says too many high fertility days...

Hi all (and merry Christmas!)

I'm using clearblue advanced digital ovulation sticks, which are meant to tell you your 4 most fertile days. 2 at high fertility and 2 at peak. For the last 5 days the monitor is flashing that smiley face indicating I'm at high fertility. I'm so confused. How can this happen for 5 days? I haven't even got a peak fertility smiling face yet. I'm hoping someone can explain this to me, because I'm worried they (or my body) has gone mad...

Pregnant?

Nope not pregnant, sadly. I took 4 tests last month which were all negative, had 2 low fertility days according to the monitor, and now have had five high.... Really confused....

Is there a telephone number of a help line on the box?

I also got highs for many days then three days of peak. So highs days 10,11,12,13,14 and then peaks 15,16,17. Am 14 weeks pregnant now and judging from the scans, it looks like I ovulated earlier than day 14 as the baby is a couple of days ahead.

I'm very about the home ovulation tests now. If you have a regular cycle then you don't really need them.... And I wonder if it took us so long (12mo) to get a bfp because we were waiting for peaks but I was actually ovulating earlier... Who knows!!

I'd been using my ov kits (same one as you) and getting more than 2 days of high, typically 3. Once you've got one peak though it won't give you a new reading. You don't need to test again after peak.
But goin by ov kits I ov on cd15 BUT ... last cycle I was also temping - this indicated ov cd 18, so we had carried on DTD as I was cautious/determined. This month I got my BFP.
I would recommend DTD every other day while getting high, as soon as you get peak try to go 3/4 days straight DTD. I think that extra few days really made the difference for us.

I'm not sure if the digital sticks work the same as the clear blue monitor, but I had the same problem with it. It says 'high' as soon as it detects oestrogen above a certain level then 'peak' when it detects LH. If it misses your LH surge (which can be short lived) then it just continues to say 'high' for the rest of the cycle.
Do you think you ovulated already judging by other signs?
I know many people who have got on better with cheapie Internet sticks but testing twice daily.

Thanks for all the replies. I am not sure how to tell if I've ovulated, apart from ewcm. And I haven't had that yet. But I have no idea. I'm already on day 21. My cycles are usually 30 days but last month it was 35 days. Unusually. This is the first month I've used these sticks...

How do you chart temp? Do you have to buy anything special?

I had more success by ditching the ovulation sticks and checking my CM plus having a rough awareness of cycle lengths. So instead of trying to aim for ovulation, you DTD every other day around ovulation. For me it's about 7 days after my period - so every other day for about a week from then.

Yes I normally can tell with my CM but I have still had no EW type... Another "high fertility" smiley today. Im on day 22 of my cycle. I'm abroad at the moment so can't do much else, but thinking of getting a basal body therm when I get back...

It's driving me insane! I am guessing I will ovulate in the next day or so...
