Hi carol. Not especially helpful really but just wanted to say I had the same scenario with my clearblue fertility monitor a number of cycles ago, literally had peak showing for about 5.
I didn't conceive that month and every one before/after showed a more sensible set of data so i never got to the bottom of it!

Have you just started with OPKs?

ive been using them for the past 6 cycles. i ovulate quite late so have been using them as well as cbfm. it normally only shows positive for like a day or even 2 days then back to nothing or very faint line!

im being driven mad, lol!

maybe unlikely as you sound pretty clear where you are in your cycle, but any chance you are actually pregnant? CBFM and ov sticks both pick up HCG as well as LH.
POA(pregnancy test)S if it's a possibility?

ive done a preg test just to rule it out and its negative :( but im only roughly 2-3 dpo at the moment if my calculations are right. do u think the opk would pick up hcg this early???

im so desperate for a baby i just cling to anything i think might be a good sign.....

I was wondering what your periods are like generally speaking.

If they are irregular in nature I would not use such kits at all because they can be unreliable in those particular circumstances.

Irregular periods can often be caused by hormonal imbalances which makes the usage of such kits further problematic because these measure LH. If you have an excess of this hormone, the kit reads that.

I had weirdness with CBFM where it completely missed my LH surge, said 'high' for the remainder of 20 sticks, then 'peak' right at the end of my cycle (about 10 DPO) when it was actually picking up HCG.
2-3 DPO would be too early though, HCG doesn't get into your bloodstream until embryo has implanted.
Still in with a chance for this cycle though. Hope you get a lovely Christmas present!

aww thanku bakingtins, would love an early xmas gift!!

my periods are regular now long cycle of about 34 days. however i think i have a shortish luteal phase, about 10-11 days.... not great cycles but seem to be settled into this pattern now. periods are quite light though. 10 years ago, before birth control i had a regular 29-30 day cycle, very heavy periods. wondering if light periods are a bad thing for baby making.....
