Could I get pregnant?!!

Hi! I BD on 10th Dec at lunchtime and had a postive opk roughly 24 hours later 11th Dec). Did another today and it's negative. I have three boys and would love a girl (I must add that another boy would be amazing!!). I would just love to hear your experiences. I always made sure I had sex on ovulation day with my boys x

Sperm can live in your body for a few days so, yes, you can quite possibly be pregnant. Do a pg test in a couple of weeks.

Hahaha!! I know people will say that! All I want is a HEALTHY baby. But lots of people have a preference...I don't see the harm in that!! :)

i dont see the harm in what you said either OP, you have 3 boys and will naturally be hoping for a girl but as you say a boy would also be amazing. i have one of each so i will be happy either way (ttc no.3 atm) but after i found out i was pregnant with my second i did secretly hope it was a girl (and it was) but would have loved a baby boy just as much.

Indeed sperm can live for up to 5 days inside the body and so it is definately possible for you to get pregnant if you did it up to 5 days prior to ovulation day. Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you very much Mummyinpink. I went off the computer feeling very crap in myself. I'm really excited about having a baby (our last one!) in general no matter what it is. Thanks for your comment and knowledge! Good luck to you and I hope that you get baby number three very soon...no matter what you have!! :) Xx

I don't have a problem with it either (but have seen lots of holier than thou politically correct comments lambasting people for daring to prefer one over the other...). I have one of each and want a boy for our third. Would very happily take a girl, but given the choice I'd have a boy :)

From my experience DD was conceived the night I ovulated (we only SWI once than month - sad but true). I think girl sperm do swim faster than boy sperm (?) so sex closer to ovulation is more likely to result in a girl - but I might be totally wrong...

I think I ov'd on cd16 but dtd on cd15 so looks like I conceived by doing it that way too.

that could be the theory - my app (yes i have an app, i am obsessed! ) says on the days before ovulationg 'baby boy' and the days after ovulation 'baby girl' so maybe thats why.

I know what you mean radiator - i would have expected people to make comments but everyone seems pretty supportive on the Conception forum compared to some of the others which is nice :-)

Had my coil removed 15 days ago and have already convinced myself on a daily basis that im pregnant - mainly due to the constant nausea ive had for over a week now. I supose theres no harm in fantasising is there?! gets me through the wait! ha. I didnt have AF's the whole time i had my coil in (2 and a half yrs) so no clue when im due to ovulate which is making the wait agonising....
