Worried as I couldn't drink enough before scan

Hi, would appreciate advice please - had ultrasound couple of weeks ago to check ovaries and unluckily it fell day after a period of upset stomach and vomiting.
I didn't want to miss the appointment but could not drink and keep down the required amount of water (I didn't want to risk throwing up mid scan).
The nurse commented, I explained and scan went ahead - will the results be reliable even though I didn't drink the advised amount?

I would think so, I'm sure they would have said if the results were unreliable if it wasn't clear they would have mentioned

Thank you for your reply. I have been trying to convince myself of exactly what you have said but was panicking a little

Yes they would tell you if they couldn't see what they needed too.

I had a scan a few weeks ago and she couldn't see enough even with my full bladder so I was asked tp empty my bladder and given an internal scan (dildo cam). Theu would have done this with you if they didn't see what they needed too.

In my case they still couldn't see my left ovary (bowel in the way) but were confident they'd seen enough to determine there's no cysts.

A full bladder just provides an anatomical landmark, it doesn't affect how your ovaries, etc are viewed. No need to worry.

Good luck x
