Hey!! I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to detect ovulation by using my bbt. How do you pin point the exact day of ovulation?? I really not sure how it works.x

You can only pinpoint ovulation after it has happened using BBT.

You take your temperature every morning before getting out of bed and record it on a chart. Ovulation is confirmed when you see an upwards shift in temperatures that remains higher than the average for more than 3 days.

The aim is to chart your temperature over several months so that you can establish a pattern - ie you may discover you always ovulate on Day 15 of your cycle. You can then use this information to maximise your chances of conceiving.

I also notice a dip in temperature just before I ovulate, if that's useful. It's usually the day of my hormone surge.

So if I notice a dip on say day 13 then a rise day 14 is it likely that I would have ov'd day 13??

No, you need to have 3 days of a higher temperature before you can confirm ovulation. The problem with BBT Charting is that you can't assume anything based on readings over a couple of days, you have to look back at the whole cycle to get the real picture.

I think you're better combining with OTKs - you can get cheap ones from amazon.
