Hi guys

I was wondering if you could help me? This is my first month using FF for temping. The cross hairs have come up on the graph and shown this as my ovulation day. However we didn't DTD that day (sorry for tmi) but we did dtd the day before and after. Are we still in with a chance in the 2ww or have we missed the boat this month?

Nope you have a good shot. Sperm can live for up to 5 days (theoretically - although if you look at the stats on FF the huge majority of pregnancies occur when sex happens in the three days prior to ovulation I really have spent too much time on that site), and the egg can (again theoretically) survive for up to 24hrs. There's actually an argument that shagging on the day of ovulation is too late: that it's better when the sperm are ready and waiting for the egg, so you might have actually timed it perfectly!

Also, remember that FF is not 100% precise. It's pretty good I think, but it may well be out by a day either way: it's impossible to precisely pinpoint ovulation unless you're constantly being scanned.
