Clearblue Digital Ovulation test - no smileys?

Hi all! I used the clearblue digital ovulation test for the first time this month. I used it the same time each morning (first wee!) and didn't get any smiley faces at all. However, on two of the mornings I did get a blue line which was a little bit paler than the control line. On the rest of the mornings there had been barely any line at all.
Anyone else had this? I'm wondering what it means.... is my LH surge not strong enough to make me ovulate? Did I miss the peak?
I always assumed I was ovulating as my cycle is 29 days each month and I get what I thought was ovulation pains on day 15 every time.
Any ideas?!

Try using it with your wee at a different time of day.

I have heard of that happen on here before usually they pick it up on the 2nd cycle apparently its getting to know your cycle or something! I dont think your supposed to look at the lines I don't think they mean anything on the digital tests!

You should normally use them in the afternoon not the morning, I think about 2ish is the peak time x

It all depends what type of test you used!

Did you use a normal opk? Then you use it later in the day.

Did you use an advanced opk, the one with smilies? Then you use it first thing in the morning. These don't have a control line, but an oestrogen line.

It could be that you missed your peak, e.g. you had your peak during the day so it only picked up the beginning of the peak and the end, so the line isn't that strong. Or for some women opks don't work, but that doesn't mean you don't ovulate. But you can't say for sure you did either, but since your cycles are so regular I would say you most likely don't have any problems with this.

I never had any smileys in 8 months and I got pregnant twice! (one mmc and one ds 4 months Smile )

I have been panicking today too as on my first month of clomid and was supposed to ovulate yesterday or today according to my scan but have only had flashing smileys and no peak, so was worried I haven't ovulated. Guess I will have to wait and see from my blood test but reassuring that they can be wrong!

I also had day 21 blood test to check I was ovulating. It can't back negative as progesterone was too low but in actual fact I was pregnant by then. Dr couldn't work out how it happened but these things are certainly fallible.

Good luck!
