Hello. I'm new to this site and would like to know how early did people get pregancy symptoms.

I am day 7 post 6 day embryo transfer x 2 on my 1st attempt of IVF. Since day 2/3 post transfer I have experienced niggerling stomach cramps/shooting pains that come and go. I also have a bloated stomach (could be the pessarys I'm on), but the last 3 days I have been craving cheese strings!! I'm weeing more and waking at night to go to the bath room. Occassional headache.

Just wondering if its me imagining the symptoms (as soooooooo want to be pregannt), or whether it is the real thing??

Test date Sat........do i take it early???

This might be better in 'conception' instead of bloggers topic, if you report your post HQ will move it.

Impossible really to tell what's a genuine early symptom vs hopeful imagination, pre-menstrual symptoms etc. Wait as long as you can to test as it'd be disappointing to have a series of false (or indeed) real negatives - I know this must be much easier said than done, good luck!

Ooh good luck, fingers crossed for you. It sounds like some of your symptoms are ones I would expect later in pregnancy than really early on but I could be wrong, seems everyone is different! Grin

I started off with huge, sore boobs which looking back probably started as early as 2 weeks. By four weeks Hyperemesis had started and I had ALL the sickness, got my positive test...I was too ill to notice any other symptoms after this though!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will wait till sat.
Forgot to say breasts tender and I never get menstruation pain..........so fingers crossed it will be good news.
Thanks.

I'm a strong believer that you can't have pg symptoms until at least an egg implants (around 10 dpo). I could be wrong of course but I don't see how hormonal changes can happen before your body is even aware of a fertilised egg.

Hi Smiler, do you have an update - did you test in the end?

Thatsnotmyfigure · 11/12/2013 16:40

Sounds promising!

Unfortunately, the IVF pessaries mess with all the hormonal symptoms.

Fingers crossed for you though.

Agree with Vjones, I would say symptoms start ariund time of bfp or after! With dd I have cramping/spotting/bloating few days before bfp and sickness around 7 weeks. Just had bfp again and feeling poorly but due to cold do difficult to know what's pg symptoms but do feel very queasy today! Good luck!!

when i was pregnant with my first (it was unexpected as i was on the pill so i had no clue) my boobs went really tender espeically round the nipple area and this started around 3 weeks - as i found out i was pregnant at 5 weeks and it had been going on for a few weeks by that point. thats the only symptom i remember before i actually found out id missed my AF so it could be..

When I was pregnant with ds I really didn't notice anything until around the time of my missed period. I wasn't tracking things, and I wasn't sure exactly when the date of my period was. That weekend, I was VERY bloated, and took diuretics (which I wouldn't have done had I known I was pregnant), but still didn't think I was pregnant. The Monday morning (either 1 or 2 or 3 days after period was due) I woke up with the sorest boobs I've ever felt, and knew I was pregnant. I went to buy a test, knowing that there was no point because there was no doubt I was pregnant.

But before that, pretty much nothing.
