hello,
I have started to chart my basal temp in an effort to help with conceiving , DTD at the right time etc...
its my first month trying and I'm really quite confused.
as I understand it, your temp will Dr right before ovulation and then spike.
my temp is all over the place!
started on CD 8 - 35.96
CD9 - 35.84
CD10 - 36.57
CD11 - 36.22
CD12 - 35.99
CD13 - 36.38
CD14 - 36.34
please tell me this is normal, or if there is an explanation.
Smile

My temp is always all over the place - pre & post ovulation. Anywhere b/t 36.5 & 36.9. I've stopped trying to use my temps, but i thought I was weird.

It doesn't have to dip before ov. What happens is, the highest of your 6 temperatures before ov forms the baseline. You know ov has happened when three the temperatures are above the baseline by at least 0.1 degree Celsius. Don't look at individual temperatures, but at patterns.

Make sure you temp at the same time every morning, before you do anything else. There is only a minute of so after waking up that can give you an accurate temperature, after that your organs start going and the temp changes. Also make sure you have had 4 hours of interrupted sleep. Doing this might prevent unstable temps.

From your 6 temps I can't identify ovulation. The spike at cd10 might just be an irregularity, because it is not repeated. Remember, you're looking at patterns.
