opk strip info for dummies please.

I've just bought 50 cheap opk strips off Amazon to try and help. Just been 7 weeks between periods.

I'm on day 3 of a period now.
So when do I start testing. Is it fmu like preg tests?

Once you get the line when do you need to DTD? Same day, next day?

Were hoping to try for late Dec bfp.

I'm fine with the pain, at least it makes it obvious and easy to track. These OPK sticks are a bit vague. Faint line is negative but slightly darker line is positive. I can see me agonising over whether it's dark or not. (seriously need to get a grip and just go with the flow)

Update for you, got proper positives on opks yesterday Friday the 20th making it day 26 for me. We did and then right now I have a stabby pain on my right lower abdomen (ovulation I'm guessing) so guessing when hubby is home later did again and hope we caught it.
I wonder why my ovulation is day 26? And also why it's always my lower right side month in and month out for the pain. So guess its 2ww time for me now. Just in time for me to jet off out of the uk for Xmas and new year for some r&r
