New thread. Welcome back to all the regulars. Welcome to all the newbies - please come and join us if you are IVFing or thinking about. The regulars are a mine of information at this point!

Do you realise that this will take us through a year of egg buddy threads? I believe Karbea started the last one around Xmas time last year for those cycling in 2013 and I immediately jumped on it as I was about to start my first cycle in January. Blimey.

Thanks everyone. I think it hit me hard because they weren't planning it and everyone on that side of the family are so desperate for a grandchild/great grandchild, I thought it would be us to give it to them first! It hurts so much that we're not.

bugger I had insomnia on bruserelin. It actually messed me up quite a bit. I was so tired but couldn't sleep and was constantly upset about how many forks we had or what colour the carpet was! In other words, I was an emotional mess.

bunny I always remember the hurty ones in the morning. Maybe it's because our skin is more sensitive? Keep going girl, you can do it Smile

I can't wait to get back on the injection train though, I hate waiting.

Wish. I'm glad it's not just me that gets upset by random stuff like that.
I was in tears a few weeks ago because we wouldn't be able to get a cat over the holidays.

I found the only problem with the stims was that I got bunged up!

Badhairday76 · 05/01/2014 18:01

Hello everyone. I also feel like sh*t on the devil's juice Buserelin. Double doses until Weds for me. Sigh. My eyesight is really affected, I can't sleep for waking up either boiling hot or drenched in cold sweat and I am constantly either snarling with anger or feeling tearful. I feel like I am hungover and coming down from taking Es at the same time - awful. The injections themselves also seem to be getting worse - I think I am running out of room on my poor bruised belly. Only good news is that I am still bleeding - it's been 11 days now - so hopefully my lining will be thin enough to start stimming on Weds. I will be a mess if the cycle gets cancelled - and my clinic will charge me £500 as well. Urggghhhhhhh. Sorry for moaning. Am in a witch of a mood today!

Thanks stars the morning one is cetrotide that you have to mix and is in a proper syringe rather than the pen thingy which we use in the evening for gonal f.

wish it is crap isn't it, I am the oldest cousin on one side of the family and I thought I'd be the first popping a baby out but just found out recently that 2 cousins are beating me to it Sad kicks you in the gut like a bugger! (sorry bugger)

bugs sorry you are feeling tired, hope that no kitchen appliance upset you Wink

Hugs bad sorry you are feeling crap too.

First scan for me tomorrow Shock

Badhairday76 · 05/01/2014 20:32

Yeah - £500. Wankers, aren't they? Especially since I asked if I could do short protocol and they said no, yet they are now saying I might respond better to it cos of my old age...grrrrrr. If I have gone through DRing for nothing and am then asked for a further £500, the Dr may well get that smack in the chops...G

Llw2 · 05/01/2014 22:01

Hello ladies just messaging to say I'm still hanging round here thinking of you all, hang in there I have everything crossed for you x

eurochick · 05/01/2014 22:16

Cetrotide is a nasty stingy fucker. I hated that. And we could never get the air bubbles out. I ended up injecting them a few times out of sheer fucked off-ness with the whole thing.

badhair that's shitty, particularly as you asked about SP. Hopefully cancelling the cycle won't prove necessary.

bugs don't be surprised if it is a few days late - that's quite normal on the DR drugs.

Hang on in there, cyclers. You are dealing with the drug shitfest marvellously.

Hey bugs all good this side, still panicking on a daily basis and taking time to adjust from a very mechanical step by step ICSI process to months of god knows what. How is everything with you?

Bunnygirlie · 06/01/2014 08:24

Monday morning, first full week at work and the first dildocam of the year!!! Woohoo Wink

starsandmoonandback · 06/01/2014 09:42

Bugs, hope you got some sleep in the end?

Bunny, good luck for scan. I'm having one too this morning. Let us know how it goes.

Llw, how you doing? I've missed lots of news as was absent for a while, what's happening with you?

Hi to everyone else Smile

bugs while you're off work get as much sleep as possible - regardless of the time of day.You can worry about work when the time comes. My coping strategy for the evil DR drugs was LOADS of sleep & drink 3 litres of water a day. One slight problem was that I was up in the night due to all the water!! I had horrendous night sweats, headaches & mood swings. Frankly that drug is the devils work. Having said all that, I got 3 blastocysts from my cycle so it was worth it for me. Just needed one to stick but that's not down to the drugs. You will feel a whole lot better when stimming starts. It's tough but try to keep your eyes on the prize.

Good luck today with the scans ladies. I love some nice follie growth action!

resipsa · 06/01/2014 13:22

Hmm, I posted earlier that I'd had no side effects from DRing but reading your posts makes me remember that I probably had some insomnia too. I can remember still being on my ipad at 1am and thinking that I really should try to sleep as I had to get up for work at 6am...but when 6am came, I wasn't tired. Weird. Just hold out for the progesterone which will come your way soon - I've only ever fallen asleep in the afternoon twice and it was responsible for both!

A question for anyone who has done a FET with 2 available for transfer. Do you go for 1 at a time or bung both in?

eurochick · 06/01/2014 13:36

bunny I can't believe the clinic didn't warn you. Mine was very clear that stinging and red patches were to be expected.

How was the scan?

Hello everybody. Am really interested to hear people's thoughts on single or double embryo transfer. My thoughts have always been to transfer two (if I have any to transfer, of course) to give myself the best possible chance of one taking. My clinic said two would be recommended because of my age (am only 37, btw - you would think I was 50 they way they talk). My AMH level is 13.8 which again is 'okay for my age' but apparently not that good? Any advice anyone could give me would be appreciated.

eurochick · 06/01/2014 15:18

bad according to a chart I found on t'interweb, that seems spot on average (mine is 15 - it was 12 2 years ago!). I'll see if I can find it and post it.

beetle I found the alcohol wipes made the injections sting more, but not enough to really bother me.

I've always been very pro SET for me. Statistically, the chances for each transfer are about 30% on average, and adding in anotherr embryo only ups this by about 10%, so it seems that 2 SETs give you a better chance overall. I've also seen my bestie go through a difficult twin pregnancy and then have to manage her two boys and there is no doubting it's hard. Her twins were from an SET that split, so completely beyond her control, but having seen what she went through, I am quite clear that it is not something I would actively choose.
