Eggcellent Egg Buddies - a thread for those IVFing in November, December and January

New thread. Welcome back to all the regulars. Welcome to all the newbies - please come and join us if you are IVFing or thinking about. The regulars are a mine of information at this point!

Do you realise that this will take us through a year of egg buddy threads? I believe Karbea started the last one around Xmas time last year for those cycling in 2013 and I immediately jumped on it as I was about to start my first cycle in January. Blimey.

Thx Brooker! I did post a few weeks back but I mainly lurk.

Yep this is from my FET. Found at beginning of December, am currently 8+5 and very happy and relieved but also feeling very fragile!

twinklestar2 · 03/01/2014 22:48

How are u brooks?

Pipbin · 03/01/2014 22:57

I didn't know either Twink. So exciting. It's great to hear good news stories. It can really happen.

BrookerC · 03/01/2014 22:57

I'm sorry I missed your post twinks - I'm lurking too. You are now my FET role model! We have one frostie which we are hoping to transfer next month please thaw, pleeeese I am so ecstatic for you & Mr T! You hang on in there lady & keep us updated with your progress - we need to hear about the successes to keep us going. xx

twinklestar2 · 03/01/2014 23:06

Thanks pip. It's always nice when an old timer on these boards get their BFP.

Brooker - we only had one too. Luckily it defrosted. 3 days before OTD I had spotting; cried so much but it turned out to be implantation bleeding. My fet was a grade 4BB. I had acupuncture, the scratch and embryo glue.

We were both so shocked it was worked. I didn't believe that it was going to and was saving and looking towards a fresh cycle. I know it's the old age thing that makes you want to scream when you read it but I was much more relaxed about this cycle because I truly believed it wasn't going to work.

It's funny because my due date is 3 years to the day we started trying. Didn't believe that those ironic things happened to someone like me. I was always the one who got my period the day I started a new job or the day I went to the fertility clinic.

Sorry it's a long post and me me me girls, just putting it out there in case it helps anyone or gives them hope.

I'm so pleased today: euro saw the heartbeat and is properly preggers and my friend from the other thread I used to hang around on had her baby today after trying for ages and having problems too.

Pipbin · 03/01/2014 23:14

Who had their baby today? Anyone I know?

twinklestar2 · 03/01/2014 23:19

Pip it was redrobin, she used to hang out on the BFP in 2012/2013 thread. Not sure if you know her?

wishwash · 05/01/2014 02:37

Congrats twinks and super news on the heartbeat euroSmile

I know I haven't posted for a while but I have been lurking as nothing is going on at the moment.

I popped on because we just had the news that DP's brother is having a baby with his girlfriend. The word distraught doesn't even touch on how I feel right now..... This is too close to home Sad

I needed to put it out there where my feelings are understood xxx

starsandmoonandback · 05/01/2014 08:30

Wish, sorry you're feeling sad. It's quite understandable and you know we do understand on here. Hugs x

Pip, so Stimms today. Yay!

I'm on day 5 of Stimms today and added in the two other injections as well. Scan tomorrow to see what those follies are up to.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

wish I'm sorry about the close to home announcement. I can understand why you are upset. The thing that helped me a little in similar situations was reminding myself that there is not a finite number of babies - them having one doesn't mean that you won't. And you don't want their baby, you want yours. Sorry if that is patronising. It worked for me, but I understand that it might not help everyone. x

Good luck with stimming, pip!

bugs I think it might have done, but I can't remember clearly at this point as it was a long time ago!

OP posts:
Pipbin · 05/01/2014 10:21

Bugs. I've not been able to get to sleep either the last few weeks. However I have put this down to being on holiday and not having a regular routine. I've also found that I have got very hot at night too, I'm often having to sleep with out any covers at all.

Morning all!

wish ugh family pg announcements are the worst! I had a meltdown recently over a younger cousins announcement.

Ooh pip stims!

Just logging on to rant (sorry) at how unfair this whole thing is Sad my morning jab really hurt and I can't bear the thought of another possible 7 days of this crap.

starsandmoonandback · 05/01/2014 11:42

Bunnie, which injection is the morning one? I find with ones that hurt, it's better if you push it in very very slowly. If the liquid is thicker it can hurt more and thAts how I've dealt with it anyway. I know what you mean though. I added in another 2 injections this morning and had that very thought, oh god I've got to do this every morning for another week :-( mehhh!

Bugs, yeah buserilin really drains the life out of you doesn't it? How long till you stimm? Another week? Saving grace with DRing is once Stimms start the horrible side effects for off!

How is everyone else doing? Smile
