Possible to ovulate twice in a cycle?

Hi all - bit worried I've missed the boat with this cycle!

Last week had my positive OPK on CD 15 & 16 (have a 30 day cycle). DTD every day! 2 days ago I started getting a dull ache on my right side couple with a brown discharge. This lasted for 48 hours. Really worried that I ovulated late & the tests were screwed up, meaning we've missed our chance this month. Is it possible I ovulated twice? Clinging onto a bit of hope!!

You can't ovulate two separate times in a cycle. Either the first time your body geared up with ovulation but then didn't go through with it, or the second symptoms were not ovulation.

How much time passed between the positive opk and the pain?

I was afraid of that!

Had my positive OPK CD15&16 & pain CD 21&22.

do you normally get those same symptoms when you ovulate?

BobaFetaCheese · 21/11/2013 20:45

Ooh. Could be an implantion bleed! Keeping fingers crossed for you.

This sounds exactly like implantation.

It is possible to ovulate twice in one cycle but it's not very common.

OPKs don't tell you that you've ovulated, they only detect a hormonal surge which may lead to ovulation. They work best alongside tracking your temperature. Otherwise, it's better to have sex every 2-3 days through your cycle.

As other people have said, it's completely feasible that it's implantation. I truly hope so. Smile

Thanks for all the lovely words but doubt very much it's implantation - after 18 months of trying & a mc in that time I'm not getting my hopes up!

The discharge is now at an almost bleeding point (sorry for tmi). I had an ovarian cyst in July & was admitted to hospital but a scan in Sept showed nothing. What I'm experiencing now replicates that. Back on the phone to my fertility consultant then!

Best of luck notso, hope fertilty consultant can work out the reason for discharge/bleed.

Are you temp charting? If so what's it been doing since the pain?

Sorry to hear of your mc. X
