Looking for some hand holding and/or advice... (Probably TMI)

About 8 months ago I started spotting in the middle of my cycle and have done every month since... Only for a day or 2 at first, and about the time that I should be ovulating, so I thought it was due to that (because I know some women do spot when they ovulate) and didn't worry about it.

A couple of cycles after it started it happened for a full week in the middle of my cycle, (TMI alert - brown clots mostly but also some red blood). Like a mini period. Because this was more unusual I went to the doctor who did some swab tests (looking for infection), a smear, and sent me for an ultrasound. All of these came back clear.

It kept happening every month, but only for 2 or 3 days, so I wasn't too worried. Now, this month it started before I was supposed to be ovulating - only 6 days after my period stopped, and it is still happening now...2 weeks later!! On Wednesday I had a blood test to check my hormone levels and also (I think) whether I am ovulating... I don't get the results until Tuesday and I am just SO nervous.

I am 29 and me and DH are going to start TTC in June when I will be 30 (we can't start before that for many reasons). I am just so scared that whatever this is will stop us from conceiving... I am trying not to get myself worked up because I know stress can't be helping the situation and there is no point in getting upset before we know what we are dealing with...

I guess I just need some support... I often read these boards but haven't needed to reach out before. Thanks. x

Sorry I don't have any advice for you but I'm hoping you'll get an all clear. It might be due to stress or worry.

Have some Brew and Cake and best wishes x

Thanks Modest. Thanks

Don't have advice either but just want to say good luck. Will be thinking of you and hoping its nothing serious.

BananaRaces · 21/11/2013 11:52

Thanks Tadpole Thanks. It's good to be able to talk about it and get support. I've only really been able to talk to my Mum and my DH in RL because it's such a TMI topic! They've been great, but I don't want to worry either of them too much.

I haven't experienced this so I'm unable to offer any advice but I didn't want to read and run. Try not to worry yourself as it will not influence the results you're expecting next week, it may however make you feel even worse. Good luck and I hope that you get your BFP when the time is right for you Smile

BananaRaces · 21/11/2013 12:23

Thanks rosiegal Thanks. I am trying very hard not to worry... It's just easier said than done!

You're right Banana Definitely easier said than done. I've been off the pill since September and ttc#1, nothing yet. I know its early days but that doesn't stop the 'can I/cant I' conversation in my head. I'm yet to have a proper period other than the withdrawel bleed so my main worry is no bleeding at all! I think having these tests now is defo a good thing for you and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

BananaRaces · 21/11/2013 12:42

I've got my fingers crossed for you too rosiegal. Here's hoping our cycles sort themselves out!

Hi Banana, this sounds very much like what I have had for more years that I would like to count. I was 20 when I was diagnosed with endometriosis which doesn't show on an ultrasound. I scared myself witless reading up on the condition and convinced myself that I would be infertile but fell pregnant first time of trying with both of my children.
Please try not to worry. If the tests all come back clear (which they hopefully will) still ask to be referred to a gynaecologist. Good luck.

BananaRaces · 25/11/2013 21:49

The tests came back clear. My doctor is getting in touch with a gynaecologist "for a second opinion". Apparently they will write to me. Does that sound like a referral? You're all so supportive, thank you.

Hi Banana, great that the tests are clear and yes, it does sound as though you are being referred to a gynaecologist. Hopefully they will be able to sort you out ready for the fun to start in June! Good luck!
