Folic acid + women's vitamin?

Hello :) new here just dipping my toes in!
We would like to ttc in the NY. My women's multivitamin has 200mg (microgram? Not sure what the measure is!) of folic acid and my folic acid supp has 400, as recommended. This is 600 a day, does anyone know if that's too much long term ? I can't find much online.

If it is too much, would it be sensible to skip the extra supplement a few days a week so averaged out its 400 a day, or is that too technical?

TIA

Why don't you go for a new woman's vitamin - pre pregnancy / conception one that has the perfect amount of folic acid in. Check your current vitamin as you should avoid Vitamin A when TTC and in pregnancy, most general health multi vitamins have this in. Have no idea why your supposed to avoid it just one of those things I read somewhere.
If your vitamin is fine I would worry about taking over the amount of folic acid even if you only take 400mg you'l be topping it up with certain foods anyway so it's not like it's something you can overdose on so to speak xx
