What's happening... not pregnant...

Had ERPC at 12 weeks pregnant, MMC, on September 20th.

Two weeks later had bleeding like a light period, two weeks after that had another bleed which was more like normal period.

I normally have a 28 day cycle, pretty regular give or take a day, and so I thought this made sense that I had a period 28 days exactly after my ERPC.

DTD around time when I thought ovulation might be. And then about 10 days before next period was due had what seemed like serious pulling and stretching abdominal pains which I thought could have been either ovulation or implantation as they continued for a few days.

Finally had crampy pains in lead up to period due date, with normal PMT type symptoms of slight nausea, headaches, mood swings... However period due date came and went, period like pains subsided although I still feel slightly dizzy and nauseous....

I guess I dared to hope I might have been very lucky and got pregnant again... however now at 3 days past period due date and have done a couple of pregnancy tests and both are BFN Sad

Has anyone else had this? Is my cycle still all screwed up post ERPC? Is my period still on it's way even though I have absolutely no period cramps? Should I retake pregnancy test in a day or so or am I just torturing myself by hoping?

hey nut, I'm really sorry to hear about your experience and can understand why you were hopeful and looking out for signs. I don't think anyone can tell you what's happening, even if someone has experienced similar it will be unlikely to be for the same reason. I know that cycles do become erratic for a while after MMC. I would do what's best for you, and that might well be trying not to focus on what you think it is. Just be kind to yourself, there's nothing wrong with hoping, but if you're getting your hopes up and then feeling tortured perhaps taking tests isn't the right thing.
fx for you that af doesn't turn up, but if it does it will mean you can use that as a hopeful sign that your cycles are back xx

Thanks for replying flymo.

Well AF did arrive today, four days past it's expected due date [if sticking to my normal 28 cycle]

I guess I can't expect it to be completely back to normal when MMC and ERPC was only two months ago... but you hear about couples who got pregnant again very quickly after MC and I was sort of hoping this might happen for me too.

Oh well, onwards and upwards! Hopefully I will have my BFP before too long, particularly as I have just turned 40 and time is running out I fear... Sad
