Hi..I hope someone can advise or put my mind at ease. I am ttc baby #3. I THINK I am about 7 or 8 days post ovulation..and have the usual symptoms, but what I am posting about is the unbelievable lower back pain I've had since about a day after ovulation (this is if I've calculated my days right). The only way I can describe it is like a nore pronounced period pain. In fact, my last baby was back-to-back labour and tonight I realised that this is exactly what that felt like!! It is primarily in my lower back but is radiating all the way around and my front feels like its stretching.
Obviously I'd be overjoyed to be pregnant but right now I am concerned something isn't right with me. The bsck pain has been a week, and starts as soon as I get up in the morning and is even present when sirting down.

Is it too low to be kidney pain? The only person I know with similarly long lasting backache had a severely blocked kidney. No urinary problems at all with it.

ADifferentKindOfMum · 17/11/2013 19:12

I had a kidney stone once years ago, and it was painful on one side only. This is so central..and is just so like my back labour pains..it really is quite breathtaking.
I'm going to go to a&e because it sort of feels not necessarily about my back, if you see what I mean.

Right I've taken paracetamol and will sit it out for a bit before I race off to sit in a&e for six hours..interesting I've had (sorry, tmi) super-efficient bowels all week which is unusual for me so could this be implantation? Really bloody painful!

I had had this with several of my pregnancies....it was very early on...prior to bfp up until 5/6 weeks!!!

Hows your back feeling now?

ADifferentKindOfMum · 17/11/2013 19:58

I have been curving it for about 20 minutes which has offered a bit of relief but am going to get up in a bit for a shower. I never had this with other pregnancies but like I say, my last labour was horrible...truly "all in the back" as they say. I'm 40 too; hope if I've been lucky this month I'm going to have an okay time of it. AF due a week tomorrow..bit early for tests.

Hope it's feeling better this morning? And good luck next week if AF stays away :)

ADifferentKindOfMum · 18/11/2013 12:46

lucy hallo... mean't to ask yesterday for a bit more info..you say you had it with all your pregnancies right from conception?
Yeah it is exactly the same today...its such a unique pain..definately not from an injury. Have been getting a bit of hip twinging too. If I was well into a pregnancy I'd ignore it as I remember these pelvic twinges as you get into the last Trimester. Do you think it is really possible that everything could be changing quicker? They do say the more babies you have the earlier you get your symptoms or is that all rubbish?

Yeah back pain was a huge symptom for me...especially the last pg (mc though Sad ). That was baby number four so maybe it does affect your back quicker when you have a few pregnancies!

Maybr wait it out a few days with paracetemol and if still hurting then try GP ?!

ADifferentKindOfMum · 18/11/2013 13:17

Am testing on Thursday so will be definately be looking for answers...and cracking open a box of Ibuprofen if applicable!

An update on the back pain...it yielded the faintest of bfp's today! Obviously am overjoyed but am only 2 days overdue and the line didn't stick around.

I last tested on Saturday morning with a FRER which was bfn. Interestingly I've never had such a late result before so I'm hoping all is fine. Feel very sick and dizzy. So...excruciating lower back pain..who knew.

Oh wow!!! congratulations Grin Grin

A line is a line! Maybe try a digi in a couple of days to confirm it and good luck with your pregnancy Grin Grin

Clearblue this morning has given me a bfn. Absolutely gutted. Am still late but breasts are killing me so I'm assuming af coming. The cheapo tests showed faint pink lines on both so I must assume that as totally wrong since they faded to nothing after a while. Gutting and head screwing.

Have you tested again? Try a FRER. They are more sensitive than Clearblue. Good Luck.

ADifferentKindOfMum · 28/11/2013 21:05

hey allchat :)

I`m in a bit of a mess actually. Still no AF, and I have been to the gp about the exhaustion, which is going on 3 weeks now of sleeping 13 hour nights and the chronic back pain, which has kept me off work today.

I have had lots of period pain but it amounts to nothing. Not even spotting. All hpt`s are bfn, and quite honestly I don't even think i am doing them properly as I am up 3 or 4 times each night so FMU isn't!

My gp has suggested that it could be a UTI...I must admit I am going a lot, its a bit cloudy and for the last 3 weeks only smells of sugar puffs. Every time. I just want to feel better really bfp or not. I had a blood test today so that should show what my HB is and if I am pregnant. Am 3 days late which is absolutely not normal for me. Sorry, I am really moaning and fairly fed up.

Poor you. At least you have your bloods done now and hopefully you'll have the answer. Rest well and hope you feel better soon. X

ADifferentKindOfMum · 29/11/2013 18:54

Negative bloods. For first time in my entire life my period has just...not arrived. The first month we start TTC...so weird.
I will just have to wait for the next one. Still have a very painful back so it looks like I've damaged it at work (healthcare prof). And I expect the nausea and big boobs are the pmt which has not gone anywhere. Still bloated as hell but i'm resigned to that now. Onwards and upwards.

allchatnicknamesgone · 30/11/2013 22:10

I'm sorry. Hope AF arrives soon. I think our bodies play tricks on us when we start TTC. X
