Hi all,

New to the forum and TTC No1.
Using the Clear blue fertility monitor to help, as my cycle often varies between 27-30 days and wasn't sure when I peaked. Used it for the first time in october (LMP 17th Oct) and DTD 31st October. Never even thought I may get pregnant after trying just one time and on one day, but started having metallic taste and intense hunger about a week or so after. Was due on a week ago according to monitor (and own calculations) and nothing... lots of weird and uncomfortable cramping which I don't usually get...did a test and got a BFP. Over the moon, but in shock nonetheless. Waited...did one day after in the morning and Negative. Day after that (today) started bleeding.
Really have no idea what to think? Chemical Pregnancy perhaps? None of my friends have babies (even though we are now into our 30s!) so no one to ask really. Any advice would be fantastic.
Smile

Did u use another brand of test? I'm not really sure about chemical pregnancies sorry. Maybe someone else can help.

Sorry to hear that OP, sounds like a chemical pregnancy. Egg is fertilised and implants but not early enough or strongly enough to over-ride the menstrual cycle, or there is a chromosome problem that means the embryo can't develop beyond a few cells.
I'd call the MW and let her know.

Hi stargirl - yes exactly as Bakingtins says. It was a proper positive though - false positives v unusual. So v early pregnany failure - chemical pregnancy is such a daft term. Sadly it's v common indeed. Hope you're feeling better soon and that you are seeing another BFP before too long.

Thanks all so much Thanks Trying to be positive and know that at least something happened! Better try again this month! Appreciate the support, it's easy to feel a little isolated Smile
