Took my last pill 33 days ago and started my withdrawal bleed 31 days ago, so theoretically cd31, almost 32, if I had reverted to business as usual straight away. Have had some mega-cramps for about a week now, but otherwise no sign of AF. Have not really been 'trying' as ideally would get pregnant early next year but have been using a mixture of withdrawal and condoms. Took a test today-BFN. I either want AF or BFP so that I know things are working, is that too much to ask?!?

By the way, I do realise I need to Chill.The.Fuck.Out.....just been on the pill 12 years and very paranoid this will have masked an issue

It can take a while before your periods go back to normal. Do you remember what they were like before the pill?

The withdrawal bleed you had was not a real period and it can take 6-12 months before your cycles regulate themselves. It's also normal to take a while before you get your first period; I had to wait four months after stopping the pill, which is not uncommon and apparently normal. GPs aren't worried unless it's been a long time - some say 6 months, others 12.

I know it can be a nervous time, hoping everything will start working again, but remember most women have normal cycles and especially if your cycles were ok before you should go back to that. Plenty of time before you want to ttc for your period to come back Smile

Hmm, I don't really remember them much to be honest. Started at 14 mad was on the pill by 15 to control them/keep them light as was very spotty and going off to boarding school for a levels.

Well I went on the pill because I was spotty Smile

I would just assume you're ok like most women and not worry! Give yourself a good 6 months before thinking there might be something up.

Yip chilling out would be good. I came of the pill in December last year after being on it roughly 12 years. Took me about 3-4 months before I got a period! I actually loved it, was really nice to be period free for so long.

We had just decided to start trying so it wasn't too annoying waiting on it coming or worrying. It's harder now that it's been almost a year and no BFP yet. Just try and relax and stay positive and it will work out. If not go see your gp. Good luck

Things glad I'm not the only one worrying prematurely Smile Came off pill 38 days ago in order to TTC soon, had withdrawal bleed 35 days ago, still no AF, am not pregnant. I've come off the pill for a few months several times before and have always had a period by now (or maybe I haven't but it seemed shorter because I wasn't freaking out ?!) I know it will come but I can't help wishing I had come off the pill a few months earlier. Hey ho.

I am in same situation! Last pill and bleed beginning is September and no sign of my period! So frustrating!! Spend years not wanting them the when I do want them where the hell are they?! Fed up of seeing averages when googling!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 14/11/2013 22:35

It's frustrating isn't it? I've been really stressed at work which I know won't be helping....along with willing it to come...inevitable that it will be late really Grin

Have had a lot of nausea and cramps since coming off so something Ian happening....just dont know what...

So frustrating!! Just have to wait and I don't do waiting....
I had one day of cramps about 3 weeks and that was all.

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 15/11/2013 11:42

What pill were you on LAM? I wonder if some were worse than others. All my sisters (3!) came off the pill, had no period and for pregnant first month Angry DH reckons everything will just slot into place Wink (no pun intended).....hopefully it will....

Marvelon for the past 6 or so years, dianette (?) previously. I haven't TTC yet as I wanted to get back to normal periods first so I had a rough idea of what my body was doing! What brand were you on? Guess you may have a point in that some are worse but then I guess every person will react differently too!

LAM1 · 15/11/2013 15:28

And my DH says the same, am not sure he would be saying that if it was him not functioning as expected!!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 15/11/2013 16:55

Microgynon. I guess I didn't really think about filling my body with hormones for years as being an artificial thing, it was convenient and what everybody else I knew did...I just hope all reverts to business as usual asap. Got some pinkish cm today so fingers crossed AF is on the way (never thought I'd say that!)

Fingers crossed for you! It's odd how I never even thought about stuff like this. Like you I just went along with the pill...easy to do, controlled periods and stopped the dreaded pregnancy. Now wanting the opposite, I wonder how much the pill actually effects you?!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 16/11/2013 14:22

It has arrived! Thank god! Hopefully the cramping and emotional-ness will subside a bit now. How yours appears soon!
